Never said they wouldn't compete... not that Stupid - their Austrlians but will say that if they have found this Ashes hard, then the next ones are really going to stretch them...

They will not have the same level of talent to dominate

See you in two years... Hopefully Harmison does'nt get homesick and Flintoff does'nt get injured... then we might have a contest . Two years is plenty of time to rebuild and we have the talent to do it.

When they eventually come out of hiding...

You haven't named one players in their mid-early twenties that could be described as "the talent to do it
"

not trying to be pedantic here, but the whole basis of my posts was on what you said:

if i misunderstood you then all my other posts on the subject are irrelevant too, if all you were trying to say was that the wouldn't dominate like they have in the past then i 100% agree with you, but it didn't read like that at the time.

I guess no one knows what will happen until the next ashes anyway, one thing we all agree on though is we can't wait for the oval test to start though

Just to add, to follow on from Beny's "not playing our best" comments, well you're not playing our best either, Bell is a long term replacement for Butcher who is/was out injured and Pieterson is replacing our best batsman, Thorpe, again as another long term replacement, whereas you're only missing lehmann for clarke (not a bad swap).

Sorry VF - but you are right I did say that, although I did not mean it as strong.. but I still can't see them beating England in 18 months, and neither could any of the press experts before this series...

On your logic then, it wouldn't be a contest, but a hollow victory for the Aussies!!! Although you probably won't win, so I don't know what that makes it!
