All of a sudden he's a hero!

Freddie won us the match!
There is a flip to this, if he can't be called a hero for taking the catch, what would he have been called if he had put it down?.

I understand, what we should do is actually continue to saying hes a useless catcher despite often proving everyone wrong. What people want is to just ignore any good catch he makes so we can really pile the pressure on him.

Ok, in seriousness, I'm not G Jones biggest fan ever but I happen to think hes a great talent for England and people are often a little unfair on him. He has made an astonishing amount of catches for England recently [Against Bangladesh, In the ODI series and in the Lords first innings (Which people want to forget)] and then he drops a couple like everyone else is doing and hes straight again completly under pressure.

Lets get this back on topic rather than sarcy remarks about G Jonesy

Are you pulling people's leg?

Vaughn nearly lost the game from an unlooseable position. He didd'nt make any runs... How the hell does he get an 8!
Tresco got 9, but langer only got 7... There was only 8 runs difference between their two scores and Langer had a much harder time getting his?
What did Strauss do to deserve 7?
Bell got 6 for his proformance? Did I miss something?
Jones got more than Gilly? Did you see some of the catches that Gilly took? He also nearly made a 50... What did Jones do other than let through Bys..

Simon Jones got 7 and Gillespie got 1? What? Gillespie had two catches dropped off him and bowled fairly well. He didd'nt get punished... That's just rediculous!
Shane Warne got the same as Harmison? How many wickets did Harmison take?

Wrong! You didn't watch the game did you? He made 25 runs!

Those 8 runs made all the difference, Langer had a hard time because he's scared of Harmison and keeps getting himself hurt.

A good 48 and a great catch to dismiss Hayden.

He played well in my opinion. Unlucky to be given out.

Better keeping from Jones in my opinion.

I saw the non-catches that he took, i.e. off Bell and Pietersen. Plus Gilchrist was terrible at batting with the tailenders and should have ended 75*, or at least died wondering, instead of trusting the tail which crumbled.

Two, on a pitch that didn't suit him. He also bowled the best ball of the match in my opinion.

Look Beny, this thread is about opinion. I have clearly expressed the ratings I thought that both teams deserved. If you don't agree with my opinion that's fine, stick with your's.

And if Australia had scored 3 more runs he would have goten a 2.

I'm saying that, if anything, Langer's proformance was more impressive than Tresco's although I'd have stuck for something like an 8v7.

And Yet Gilly got 49 and took some fantastic catches and only got 5...??? If gilly hadd'nt taken some of those catches, then regardless of weather they were out or not, there would'nt have even been a chance. Jones' effort was poor. How many Bys did he let through? Ask the bowlers weather he did well...

This the same tail that put on 100 run last stand?

And you gave him the same as Warne?
