2nd Test - Players Ratings

For the first test R W S set up a thread for everyone to post their opinion of the marks out of 10 for each of the Australia and England teams.

England Vs Australia 1st Test - Ratings

I think it was his intention to complile these over the series, as I have not seen a thread for the second test and not seen R W S about for a bit I will set this thread up for him. Here are the BBC ratings

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/4128796.stm

I must admit I didn't see enough of the test to submit accurate ratings. Only 2 days till the next test so get posting.

How can a man who scored 1 and 9 be rated the same as someone who got 49 not out and 1 ? I'll add to that: one of them let through 26 byes, the other none. One took four catches the other seven!!! Incredible ratings!!!

Its down to opinion mate! Geriant Jones won us the match, while Gilchrist didn't for the Aussies. So you can see why the vote, infact he didn't do much wrong, two spectacular deliveries and he didn't drop too much! Just some ambitious bowling gave those leg-byes...

Anyway my ratings:

Vaughan 4 Ponting 5
Trescothick 8 Hayden 4
Strauss 6 Langer 7
Bell 5 Martyn 5
Pietersen 7 Clarke 6
Flintoff 10 Katich 6
G Jones 6 Gilcrhist 6
Giles 6 Warne 9
S Jones 7 Gillespie 4
Hoggard 5 Lee 7
Harmison 6 Kaspa 6

England 70 Australia 65

Trescothick 8 Hayden 3
Strauss 5 Langer 7
Vaughan 2 Ponting 3
Bell 4 Martyn 5
Pietersen 8 Clarke 6
Flintoff 10 Katich 5
Jones 5 Gilchrist 6
Giles 7 Warne 10
Hoggard 5 Gillespie 3
Harmison 5 Lee 7
Jones 6 Kasprowicz 6

England 65 Australia 61

All in all not many players had good games and most of the bowlers ratings on both sides have been boosted by their dogged batting.

Flintoff 9.5 (I don't do full marks!) - Katich 3

Hoggard 3 - Kasprowicz 5

I will dispute the statment that Geraint Jones won us the match. He took the winning catch, but that's all.
All of a sudden he's a hero!

Freddie won us the match!
