The captain of any sports side always gets more attention Andy. I guess they're suppose to get more attention.

Sure Zainub! But after the men's test, C4 spoke to Vaughan, but also the match winners - Flintoff, Giles and Hoggard! I think Claire Connor loves the camera too much after her stint on Channel 4 last year. Still no other bloke has contributed to this thread. Sad state of affairs I'm afraid.

Sad indeed. I see this thread was viwed 70 times but got only 12 replies ...which actually suggests that people will have read this and still not bothered replying, which I find very, very strange indeed.

I'm little perplexed at your comments on Cornor, I obviously know preciously little things about her so connot comment, but I am sad to know she could be some one who wanted to steal the limelight away from other more deserving players.

Congratulations to the women.

15 year old Colvin was a ctually a pupil at a local school, but I didn't realise.
Also, Claire Connor teaches at a school where I've sent a scholarship pupil.

<random>

It's great news - let's hope we do the double.

Great effort from the ladies. Katherine Blunt really deserved the limelight with 9 wickets and a fifty batting at number ten - that tenth wicket partnership of 80 plus really hurt the Aussies! I did see that at one point on Friday Jenny Gunn had figures of 17-16-4-2 (or something very close to that) which were quite remarkable. (random note: I used to watch her father playing full back for Nottingham Forest!)

I take the opposite view. I've seen this thread for a while and haven't written anything although I am interested in women's cricket I know nowt about it. Maybe that explains why people are looking but not writing. I have followed the women's ashes and have kept my daughters informed about it. they are getting into cricket and they were proud our women had beaten the aussies.
