Australia wouldn't be risking their prime asset if he wasn't fully fit. Supposedly, the injury he sustained only comes into play at extremes of movement - such as when you turn over your ankle. So, theoretically, the only way he should re-injure himself is if he turns his ankle over again. Can't see him mucking about before a match again, so no chance of that.

Brilliant! Could be the key toss of the series.

I would find it very odd if they were taking a risk. A commentator saw him "run and leap of the advertising boards" Good toss for Vaughan to win.

Big deal. It's not as if he's going to bowl reverse swing at 85 mph.

It's going to be typical length bowling at 128k, not necessarily good cricket for the eye.

He's a boring bowler, but a good one to have on your team.

And I tell you what, He'll prolly win Australia the Ashes, hehe

So we are back to England being the only team with any players missing due to injury (Mark Butcher).

Still think Australia have the edge for this series, the quicks and the batting are pretty even with McGrath back fit, but Warne is the key. As much as Ashley Giles has improved as a spinner over the last couple of years he is not up to the standard of Warne (but then nobody in the world is.)

Sorry but if that is what it takes to give England the advantage in the test then I will take it. Obviously I wish him no ill luck but I want England to win.

On the subject of ankle injuries, I have had similar injuries to both ankles - at seperate times - and both my ankles are still weaker than prior to the injury (they were 6 and 4 years ago). Obviously that is down to me not being a sportsman but they are still both prone to 'going over' or turning them. It is always in the back of my mind that I could go over as well.

Mcgraths sheer presence is daunting, his bowling is always on point and it pegs the batsmen back quite a bit... He also allows other Aussies to feed off him as teh batsmen are struglling and their bowling rises. He really does lift the Aussies.

Of course not, but if he is taking a chance playing in this test match, then breaks down, he can't say he wasn't asking for it.
