My support for the Vaughan over Smith theory is well documented. I don't know what they took into account. But it does send me into curosity nevertheless.

But really no one should've taken Inzy's place. He has always been a unlucky fella.

The reason Graeme smith has 11 test centuries already is because South Africa play plenty of 4-5 match test series, so when he is in great form, he can cash in with plenty of hundreds. That holds true for MOST other players. For example, South Africa played about 13 tests in 2004 if I am correct. So Smith has had the chance to cash in with hundreds.

Inzamam is in blistering form, but only 3 test matches the whole year? I am sure if he had similar schedules to Australian and English players, this man would've had 32-33 plus test centuries. And I'm not joking. He doesn't get the chance to bank his good test match form, and that has been the case for his whole career.

And as far as talent is concerned, INZAMAM UL HAQ is the best right handed batsman of our times. When he is ON THE CREASE, is there anyone who provides the same talent (the ability to play shockingly late, dominate bowlers in amazing circumstances). Just imagine if he was FAST enough to get those 8-12 runs he misses every innings, due to his lazyness BETWEEN the wickets. So all I am saying is, when this man is AT THE CREASE, only Lara and Viv are better in the modern day game.

When I think of the WORLD XI, I want great batsman, not great runners between the wicket. Hence, Inzy should be the foremost choice...AND NOT A DROP OUT

You'd have to be a brave selector to do that? That's all I can say.

Coming to think of it now, I'm really so not bothered by this Johnie Walker Super Series. If the ICC can't be bothred to actually pick a squad that represents the Best players in the world outside of Australia, then it's their loss not mine.

Why isn't Vaughan there. Take their records over the last twelve months and I think that's where we get the indication. Smith made a ton of runs in the Windies, whilst Vaughan has had a lean twelve months. Smith had a stinker in South Africa, but so did Vaughan. I was a bit amazed by his non-selection, but no, not over Graeme Smith.

And Zainub, as for G Smith not having a good record against Australia, he played against them in his first two tests of his career; and hasn't played them since.

I think the criticism for G.Smith is a little unfair, it seems to be the cricketing world can't stand him. Lets face it, the guy has a fantastic record and there is really nothing to suggest he is not good enough to make the cut for this team. Apart from Kallis, name a better South African batsman?
