England vs Sri Lanka,2nd Test

The second test match between England and Sri Lanka begins on Thursday. In the first test match,Sri Lanka put up a brilliant fight to draw the match which at once looked like a certain innings defeat.

Sri Lanka now feels confident that they can win at least one of the test matches if not both.England, being the stronger side, will look to do the same thing they did in the first test, except that they let Sri Lanka draw the game.

Hopefully England will take all their catches and be able to deal with Malinga who I am sure will play. We also want a rain free 5 days. Rain permitted between 7pm-3am only for the thirsty land.

We don't need any more rain in the midlands we have had enough lately. It is you southerners who have a water shortage, the rest of us are swimming in it.

As for the test i think England need to up their fielding and if they do their all round game should be too strong.

After the number of dropped catches in the 1st Test I think we will really buck up our ideas in the fielding department. I expect it to be like the Ashes series of last year, the 1st test at Lords we were guilty of dropping 7 catches in the game but after that Test our fielding really improved. I think our team will be too strong for Sri Lanka, and with a partisan passionate crowd at Edgbaston to help fire the players up I expect us to win the Test.

I don't see why Harmison shouldn't be included into the team.He was brilliant in India.

Lack of match practice. He has only bowled 25 overs since he came back from injury so needs to get more sharpness.

I have no doubt that he will return for the 3rd test providing he gets some overs under his belt.

Agreed if he actually gets a bowl!

The weather in England is awful at the moment and I suspect that most of this weeks county games will either had very limited play or none at all.

yep, Thursday and Friday are set for more rain. I reckon it'll be a draw - if they play then i believe England could just take it, if they recover from Sri Lanka's come back last test.

Not sure about that, Greg, not with the second and third only being four days apart. If, as I expect, England win at Edgbaston, then, barring injuries, they will take an unchanged side to Trent Bridge.
