Sky Commentators

I think it is time for a complete clearout of all the Sky commentators they are appalling. Most of them were poor anyway and the others who were any good have gone stale.
Its time for change.

I would like them to get rid of Gower from the lead role, he is an OK commentator, but he is a terrible anchor. Time for Charles Colvile to get a promotion me thinks, he brings so much more bubbling passion to the role, and is entertaining to listen to.

I would like them to bring in Boycott for Botham, people slag him off for his big head but I find him entertaining to listen to. He gets stuck in and tells it as it is, doesn't beat around the bush - and I like that.

Bumble, Holding and Atherton are good, no problem there. Raja is crap, but it was either him or Wasim Akram.

I love Bumble, he has a great enthusiasm for the role, and Holding is very good. I like Boycott's style, and I would definitely have him instead of Beefy, because Beefy is too criticial of captaincy decisions, when he proved he couldn't do it himself in his career. Gower I don't like very much, Colville is ok, but both of them are eons better than Mark Nicholas, the most patronising anchor ever. And thank **** that Bob Willis isn't commentating in the test matches, he would drive me crazy. Athers is very insightful with his commentary and makes some very interesting and clever comments. Nasser Hussain has a good style as well, and he can only get better in the role.

I've been quite impressed with the Sky coverage, as my expectations were pretty low. Atherton is a good commentator, as is Michael Holding. Botham talks rubbish of course, and while I like Bumble's wit, he really needs to stop doing those terrible 'face-in-the-crowd' snippets. I think Hussain has been very good at extracting some intersting analysis from his colleagues, through asking the right questions. Ramiz Raja has been a safe pair of hands, as has Gower as anchor. I think the Third Man bits are generally very good at offering insight and analysis that is very relevant to the action as it happens.

Botham- has been commentating too long you get used to all the hooks. ie every half hour or so he is confounded by the capitain decisions. "who in his right mind would take a slip out!" or "Why hasn't he got a short leg!" Its just blinding obvious isn't it?
Holding- States a fact that is obvious to all who have been watching cricket for a while like he is revealing some great insight.
Atherton- Should be reading bedtime stories.
Hussain- Always struggling to find something to say.
Lloyd- Unfunny jokes.

Botham, agree but Sky won't ever drop him. He also repeats himself over and over again with the same points.

Holding - some of the comments he makes about fast bowling and how they could improve and sort things out make me think he should have been made the England bowling coach. So what if he states the obvious some of the time, not all who are watching cricket have been watching it for years and years - Willow and Stumpy don't tell you everything you know!

Atherton/Hussain/Bumble - I agree with everything Mongoose says about these three guys.

I think they do an ok job.It is certainly better now that Willis and Colville aren't involved.

I guess if they need a new anchorman then Ian Ward could do it as he is pretty good.

Willis had cheek muscle implants done over the weekend. On Sunday evening I saw a genuine smile.
