Dar
Bowden
Bucknor
Doctrove

Looks like those four to me, though I can't remember where Doctrove is from. Shame Taufel is an Aussie as he'd be a good bet.

I know there has been discussion of the umpires recently, and even suggestions of returning to home umpires as in the pre-1990s. However, controversy over one umpire need not disguise the fact that the creation of the elite umpiring panel has been a very good thing. There should be no conflict of interest for the officials, so neutral umpires are a good thing. Also, the elite panel ensures that umpiring standards are pretty consistent from series to series, as the same bunch of guys are officiating.

Edit: now that the poll has been added, I've gone for Dar and Bucknor, simply because I think they're the best umpires besides the Australian Taufel.

I think the best non-English, non-Australian umpires at the moment are Umpires Bowden and Dar.

I have kept faith in Hair - and to prove I don't neen an English umpire to he happy - my other choice is Buckner.

I would have been just as happy with two Aussie umpires.

I think Koertzen is far from the best decision maker among the elite panel. But I do enjoy seeing the workings of that hydraulic system in his arm when he gives people out.
