The ICC at least attempts at objectivty. Whether we agree with it not, while fans generally do not, so the ICC isn't a bad starting point. I am sure the ICC made Australia top over the last ten years in both forms of cricket and who could disagree with that? Well sure you can find some loon who would disagree but thats what makes his opinion irrelevant.

I have mentioned many times before that the series is going to be a damp squib - totally one-sided in favour of Australia.

As for Panesar, left arm spinners, except perhaps Underwood and Vettori in one series, have always struggled on Australian pitches and the Ashes 06-07 will not be an exception in any way.

Hmmmm. That's what i said leading into the 2005 Ashes. I am not so sure this time. The Auusies, for the first time in ages, will be going into a series with some mental scars. Also, they have played little serious cricket for many months so their fitness will questionable. And of course, the Aus selectors could well get it all wrong again.

I think it will be one-sided but am not which team

It's funny how Johnson has been built up to be a test cricketing giant before he has even played one test. Lee averaged 44 last summer, that really is excellent.

Yes they laugh at the fact that Monty and Mahmood actually have some test experience and performances in the bag yet their untried bloke is set to run through our batting line up like a knife through butter.

Makes perfect sense i guess.

I'd be surprised if had bowled one deliberately... it's very easy for a young spinner to bowl a wrong-un accidently. I should know seeing as I bowl the same as Monty and mine quite regularly go the wrong way.

Biggest impact on the Ashes (and the destination of them) is probably going to be Freddie's form. If he's in good form, they're England's; bad form they're the Aussies. I know I shouldn't really generalise it like that but I think that's probably the way it'll be.
