Have a look at this http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/iccct....html?view=pvp

Which player had a strike rate against Lee of 64?

Ern, I think you know your stuff, but on the issues of Bell and Mahmood, I firmly belive you are mis-guided. I also happen to like Mahmood, but at this stage I would not have him in the attack over Flintoff, Harmison, Hoggard or Anderson!!

I think FF that I would not play Mahmood before Flintoff or Harmison(provided that Harmison is not suffering home sickness).
Hoggard also I would choose before Mahmood - except maybe unless the pitch is totaly flat.

I would play Mahmood in place of a spinner - if England decide to go down the 2 spinner road, I don't believe England have the class spinner to be able to play 2.

All I can say over Bell is although he has improved, we can only wait ans see, if Tait is ruled out, that's in his favour.

It proves nothing! By that assessment, if he got out 5 times to pace bowling and 5 times to spin, he wouldn't have a weakness to anything.

I like Bell he is a young gun, I think him and Cook will be better batsman than excitment machines like Pietersen and Flintoff, and im looking forward to watching them play in the future.

Well the first shots have been fired in the ashes war, glad to say Aussie has emerged winners in a big way PM XI made 348 runs in 50 overs... and my god how the england bowlers were carted around. They mustered a tally of 180 odd runs to lose by 166 runs. As far as positives for Aussies are concerned there were many.

1) Shawn Tait bowled really well.. very good pace
2) England although much cant be expected from them in the ODI were pretty appalling in both batting and bowling. They were taken for more than 7 runs an over... throughout the innings.. thats no mean feat
3) Flintoff though bowling is not really getting any swing.. but his pace was alright!
4) Englands catching woes continue
5) Englands ODI saviour KP totally failed to fire.

Overall good practice for both teams, but it seems like Aussies are right on the money while england are a bit off and lost.

Where to start?

348 is not more than 7 an over. If you're going to slate the England team, as it appears you will do as much as possible, please get your facts right.

Yes, KP failed. This was one innings. These things happen, to every batsman.

The Aussies are right on the money are they? None of those will play at Brisbane, so that's a fairly irrelevant comment. We played against a bunch of upstarts who were very much up for it. The Test team will be full of the oldies we played last year!

Not really good practice for Australia, how many of these guys will actually get a shot in the Test series? We know the prefered Test line up and Jacques and Tait are not in it...

I am just glad we are seeing the back of these guys now, as I seriously doubt any of them will get a Test place..
