The Chat Room is open. Members and Guests will see the link between UserCP (or Register) and FAQ on the Navigation Bar above. Members and Guests, please reply to this post when you enter and delete or edit your post when you leave so we know if you are in or out. The software doesn't enable Guests to delete their own posts so Edit will do. No password is required to enter the Chat Room. Thankyou.

The layout I have chosen is called Minimal Layout. The Minimal Layout, or PDA Optimized layout provides additional chat space. Functions such as Help, Logout, and Timestamp can be accessed by right clicking on the chat text area. Audio and graphic emoticons can be accessed by right clicking in the area where you type your messages then selecting Audio Emoticons or Graphic Emoticons.

The Chat Room is a Java applet so your browser must have a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) installed. Older browsers may need to upgrade their OS, Browser, JVM or all.

Connection Difficulties

If you are having difficulties opening the Chat Room, this check-list may help you determine exactly what the problem is, and how to resolve it. The majority of our users have no trouble at all connecting.

Secondly, ensure that your computer is capable of running our software. Chances are most likely that your computer can run our chat software. Often times; however; users may disable a specific feature on their web browser that may cause problems. Ensure the following features are enabled on your computer's web browser:

• Java™

If you are running a version of a Microsoft Windows, or a BSD/*NIX variant ™ and see only a broken link icon, you will need to download a copy of the Java™ Virtual Machine in order to run our application. You may download Java™ Support for your browser from the link below:

• Sun Java™ Plugin (for Netscape, Opera, MSIE, etc..)

We strongly recommend upgrading using the most modern version of your web browser available today. Certain browsers (esp. Netscape 5 and below) running on Macintosh platforms are not capable of running our software due to issues outside of our control. We recommend that Macintosh users use Netscape 7.0, or MSIE 5.x. As WebTV does not support Java™, WebTV users will not be able to access our chat rooms.

Users behind firewalls may need to inform their local IT/network administrator to allow TCP connections on the port in use by SigmaChat. Contact your chat room owner (webmaster) to determine which server and port number this chat room has been allocated. Your chat room owner can find this information in the Help section of their chat room's control panel. SigmaChat generally uses ports 8000-8009 at client#.sigmachat.com, where # may be any integer.

AOL Members: Some users have reported that the built-in AOL browser has difficulty connecting to our service, or does not load colors/emoticons properly. To resolve this, minimize your AOL connection, and use the Internet Explorer browser that came with your operating system to access our chat rooms.

The chat room works fine, its usually best to put it on a separate window so you can stay on the forum though as not many people use it.

yeah everytime i enter the room i end up talking to myself.I have a question btw;can guests use the chatroom?

Hi imaginarydiva, if you want a chat please post in this forum that you are in the chat room if someone wants to chat. If nobody knows you are in there don't be surprised if nobody joins you. A number of our members pop in during the day and never find anybody in there at that moment. If people know you are in there you have a better chance of encouraging others to join in for a chat. Guests can also use the chat room so if you have a friend why not invite them to join you for a chat?

Just saw the chat room. Ofcourse I was alone there. But looks nice. A lot of Java though. Makes my machine very slow.

Hi DK, if you wish to chat with someone why not PM other members and invite them for a chat? Another option is to post here that you are inside the chat room which might encourage others to join you for a chat. A few chat sessions were organised by England supporters to discuss the current Test match. Why don't you try and organise a similar chat session for Aussie supporters and Pakistan supporters to chat about the current series?
