| CricSim I thought I might just like to draw your attention to a new and exciting game on World A Team. It is called CricSim and has its own subforum which can be found here: http://www.world-a-team.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90 It involves a simulation program called The Cricket Simulator - more information on this can be found here: http://www.world-a-team.com/showthread.php?t=5277 The way we have set it up on WAT is to have actual WAT forum members playing (virtually) with real life international players in the real international teams! We are using the top 43 posters plus 3 others off of WAT and 42 real life players. The teams we are using are the worlds top 8. There are going to be 4 tournaments in the season. You can find out more about these on this thread: http://www.world-a-team.com/showthread.php?t=5281 The first tournament - The WAT One Day Cup is now complete. On the match threads such as http://www.world-a-team.com/showthread.php?t=5358 , you can vote in a poll to decide the man of the match, take part in pre match and post match interviews, predict the result of the match and get the file for the scorecard and the links for the commentary. There will also be tournament summary threads where you can vote for player of the tournament and have interviews with relevant people, like this one http://www.world-a-team.com/showthread.php?t=5365 There will also be a continuos WAT XI thread - in which you can select the weeks best team from the WAT forum members. At the end of the season, the best 11 will go on 3 tours. One to play against a Rest Of The World Team and two international tours, one to England and the other to Pakistan. You can check the fixtures out in the fixtures thread link that was supplied earlier. There will also be statistics so you can keep an eye on how well you are playing and whether your batting or bowling average has changed. Here are some examples: The Australia Team Stats From The WAT One Day Cup: Code: AUS - AUSTRALIA Played: 2 Won: 1 Tied: 0 Lost: 1 N/R: 0 Win%: 50.0 Player Mch In Runs Avge S/R HS 50 100 Ovrs Runs Wkt Avge E/R Best 4w 5w J Langer 2 2 103 51.5 129 95 1 0 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 E Ernest 2 2 5 2.5 71 5 0 0 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 R Ponting 2 2 80 40.0 123 71 1 0 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 Z Zainub 2 2 209 104.5 100 118 1 1 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 M Hussey 2 2 49 24.5 89 38 0 0 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 R Rachael 2 2 42 21.0 55 31 0 0 12 82 0 -.- 6.7 -/- 0 0 Gilchrist 2 2 80 -.- 107 60 1 0 0 0 0 -.- -.- -/- 0 0 O Fan 2 2 5 5.0 83 5 0 0 19 150 3 50.0 7.9 2/67 0 0 B Lee 2 1 1 1.0 33 1 0 0 19 132 2 66.0 7.1 2/60 0 0 R Child 2 1 5 -.- 45 5 0 0 20 114 5 22.8 5.7 3/51 0 0 G McGrath 2 0 0 -.- - 0 0 0 20 118 3 39.3 5.9 2/48 0 0 The starting 11 for all of the teams will never change as there shall be no injuries. Also, I hope you understand that if you are down as a LHB and you are RHB then it doesnt matter as it is only a sim. Last edited by w3lshrugby : 01-01-2006 at 10:14 PM. |
