| Life in New Zealand Hi guys, I've just started the first phase of my design for my website, showing pictures and details of Life in New Zealand. Feel free to go and have a look at: http://www.angelfire.com/blog/jennya...nnz/index.html Any comments you have would be welcome. Now, i'm no programmer and I've never been great at art and the site took me only about 3 hours to make, so don't expect anything exciting!! Andy |

| Hi TTFC! Its 11pm here. 13 hrs difference at the moment, which means i'm hardly on-line with you UK types these days! Life here's good, sometimes difficult, sometimes fun - often interesting. I'm currently being amused by Kiwi adverts, which are often much more blunt than their UK equivalents. I've been particularly amused by adverts for Christmas... in January!! The best of these are ChrisCo and Mrs Christmas, who promise to get you everything you need for Christmas with no hassle! Really?!? With only 11 months to plan? Surely not? I was getting overwhelmed with the pressure of preparing for Xmas!! These Kiwi club cricketers look far too professional for my liking - plus I haven't seen any Teas around so far. My missus has had to play against a couple of New Zealand internationals for her new club. I'd much rather play for a team of miscreants and also-rans!! Anyway; I'm off to bed. Have a good day Englishers and others living in the GMT zone(would that be Portugal and Cape Verde?) Last edited by Andy Mellon : 30-01-2006 at 09:58 AM. |

| Mellons, super pics, lovely place, great idea for you both. Is this a one year thing or have you re-located permanently? By the way, forgive me for saying this on an open thread, but you are one lucky hombre - you have a very attractive girlfriend who also plays cricket - this is a fantastic thing. The only cloud on your horizon seems to be the lack of teas. However if this situation becomes critical (the teas, not the girlfriend) then PM me, and I'll DHL you a family sized Dundee Cake. Finally, according to Simon Hughes' book, here are a couple club cricketer phrases that you need to know about - "smuck the drubbly" - hit the medium pacers "don't hole out to the currymuncher" - be careful against the spinner "yiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssss" - we'll have a quick single there old chap!

| Ahh! I finally put a face to the name. Good to see you dropping in every so often! Have you started speaking Kiwi, bro? More importantly...How's the fush and chups? Good luck finding a team mate, otherwise there's always Australia. |

| Don't you wash "fush and chups" down with a glass of "gun and tunic"?

| Hi Andy, the cricket photos on your site are a welcome sight on this grey winter day in the UK. Any rhyme in the previous sentence is purely co-incidental. 1. The button that says, "Click here to return to the Index" doesn't work which leaves us stranded on a page other than the index page. Could it be that the URL path is incorrect with backslashes instead of forward slashes? For my money, I think <form> <input type=button value="Click here to return to the Index" onClick= "ht.tp:\\w.ww.angelfire.com\blog\jennyandandyinnz\i ndex.html"> </form> should be <form> <input type=button value="Click here to return to the Index" onClick= "ht.tp://w w.w.angelfire.com/blog/jennyandandyinnz/index.html"> </form> PS: I've corrupted the links above to prevent them being live links. The point is that I think the backslashes should be changed to forward slashes to make your index button work. 2. Having said that, I'd prefer to have your navigation menu on all pages so we can navigate anywhere from any page. 3. The counter on the index page doesn't work. I see a counter error. This site can generate counter code you can in_sert into your html page. Not sure if you need to upload any graphics to your server, though. Thanks again for those photos with the blue skies. My favourite photo is the one looking down at the Basin Reserve from the top of a hill.

Mike, thanks for the tips. I've fixed the home page links and put the menu on each page. I can see the counter though! I'm not sure why you can't Anyway, cheers for the feedback chaps! |

| Hey Andy, it's great to see your progress - I'll try to look as often as I can. New Zealand is a fascinating place geographically and I hope to do research there one day. All the best with life and the cricket. |

13 hours time difference, that leaves 11 hours so it would appear that you are only 11 hours away. Or is that something to do with "The international dateline"?.
