| What would happen? Heaven forbid this siutation but a question suddenly sprung to my mind as to what would happen in a test match/ODI if one of the umpires died. I know this is unlikely and hope that it does not happen ever but are there are regulations in place in such an occurence?

| I don't think anybody would mind if the game was called off and declared a draw under those circumstances. Some things are more important than sport. That would be one of them. |

| Without going so far as to speculate on death, in general, if an on-field Umpire is indisposed, the 3rd Umpire is meant to officiate, and the 4th Official becomes the 3rd Umpire. Of course, I doubt the above would be put into place if someone has actually died on the morning of the match - any cricket in those circumstances would be in poor taste.
