Racism in Football - What can we do to stop this?

First of all i am so disgusted at those Real Zarazoga fans who made those monkey chants at Samuel Ett'o.

As a football fan i have never seen anything so appauling like this.

What is it with Spanish Football Fans???

Why do they do this???

What are they trying to prove????

I felt so sorry for Samuel Ett'o on the night when he was racially abused by those Zarazoga idiots.

FIFA and UEFA needs to act immediatly to stop this. A fine of 9000 pounds is just not good enough.

Soon the young children football fans watching this are going to the same thing like the Real Zarazoga fans.

We must stop this now!!!

RACISM IN UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

It happens in Spain all the time but nothing gets done about it.

When England played in Spain Shaun Wright-Phillips was given terrible abuse but they got away with a paltry fine. What do you expect though from a country with a national coach who racially abused Thierry Henry ?

Racism in football isn't just limited to Eto'os case, though I feel very sorry for him. As a keen observer of Serie A, Internazionale fans made racist taunts (monkey ones), to Messina's Ivory Coast international Marc Zoro. Zoro left the field, crying, with ball in hand.

Of course there is the Shaun Wright Phillips case. Then you've got the case of Francis Awaritefe. Playing the Australian NSL for many years, prolific goalscorer. Played at South Melbourne, was treated well from home fans but like a dog by other fans. When South got rid of him on a free contract, fans paid salutes. Then he appeared in a Melbourne Knights shirt. South Fans racially taunted him.

It also shouldn't be forgotten that Ajax fans are regurlaly subjected to sounds emulating that of the sound of gas (They're a Jewish Club...) and is that not the most disgraceful thing?

Inters fans are bad, Lazios are even worse, the dutch supporters (and I use the term losely) are way way way worse the english hooligans. (not that UEFA get anywhere near to acknowledging that - for them the only hooligans out there are english ones). The spanish, well the only reason I can think of there is institutionalised racism. Whats the fine ? About 8000 euros - bugger all. I bet they make that in half time fajitas in a reserve match. If the spanish authorities were even slightly bothered they could increase the fine 10 fold and barely make a dent but the current level shows they really dont think racist chants are a bad thing.

Lazio's are downright Ultras. Right-winged politically and they've had notable racist players in their ranks. I've noted that they haven't had a noted black player in their ranks and that idiot di Canio still spurs em on. Sinisa Mihaljovic used to play there and requested a banner of Arkan be put up following his death, in a match against Serb club Red Star Belgrade.

I think if the people who commit this racist taunts are spotted, get them banned for life A.S.A.P.

As far as the boards go, I would give them something a little more nasty. How about no home fans to the games?
