| Justin Langer column Does anyone else read the Justin Langer Column on the BBC and feel that Langer has his columns written by the ACB press machine. Last week he wrote a long column about the magnificent achievement of a team scoring 400+ in a ODI and almost forgot to mention the fact that the Australians actually lost, and the SA feat of chasing down the score was probably greater. This week he bores on about selecting guys who are 30+ as they are at the right stage of life.. meanwhile ignoring the fact that practically the whole team is 30+ and if they are not careful they will have nobody playing for the team in five years time with any serious Test experience and the selectors are being criticised for having no long term plan!! He also tells us how great Clark performed and then tells us that the conditions were in the bowlers favor!! Lets see how Clark performs on a pitch that doesn't suit him before we gauge his achievement!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/4822004.stm Last edited by flanflinger : 20-03-2006 at 08:22 PM. |

| He's not really helping the Aussie's too much in terms of saying it's a good thing playing 30+ guys. The side in five years will look completely different. He clearly likes to make things look better for the Aussies most of the time which is fair enough, but to say Clark bowled well then saying the conditions favoured the bowlers kind of takes the shine off his comments.

| hes a bit too biased for me i think.... cricketers writing are fine but their views should be a bit more neutral... his column reads like a tribute.. not true journalism

Which is sad as actually his book "outback to outfield" was a cracking, and well balanced read!! Last edited by flanflinger : 20-03-2006 at 11:40 PM. |

| Whether it's ACB-orientated or not, it's pretty bland stuff. I'm not sure I'll be going out of my way to read his future columns.
