Steve Irwin Dies RIP

I'm not usualy one to get uppity about a celebrity's death but this one was a bit of a shock.

Irwin was a good man and a fantastic campaginer for the enviroment who will surely be sorely missed both at home and around the glode.

He was struck by a stingray barb off Queensland this morning and leaves a wife and two children.

Very sad news...I heard rumours about it at school but believed it were no more than a joke. RIP, Steve.

I always thought he would take one risk to many. Never would have predicted it being a stingray that got him though.Going to Austalia zoo (just up the road from me) will not be the same now, knowing that there is no chance he will be there.

Very sad indeed. A great Australian, an icon really, and he will be sadly missed.

I know I turned on Sky News and saw this and I went "****!" Although I am a "Pom" I did enjoy this guy's show. He was a showman, like when he fed a crocodile while holding his baby son. Never thought he would die from a stingray, I always thought it was be a crocodile. See ya on the otherside, Steve. Have a blast in heaven.

Great accent!

Did anybody see Bob Mortimer's parody of him on the TV comedy show "Monkey Trousers"?

Anybody who plays with fire as much as he did is bound to get burnt eventually.Sadly it took his life,my thoughts are with his wife and young children.

but greg, he had so much confidence around dangerous animals you'd think he'd never get killed by one. Alas...

We have had a thread on Steve before - I have watched most of his shows late at night and he was the ultimate entertainer of his type.
He cared about the enviroment - well he lived for the enviroment IMO.

He will be missed by many - even those who called him silly, he lived with danger - but the way he died was a real shock.

I for one will miss Steve Irwin - "most programmes" on TV I don't like - but he was like a breath of fresh air, the Wildelife channels just won't be the same.
