| My most loved would have to be Johnty Rhodes: fantastic character. The sheer athleticism of his fielding at point (and the way he adapted his hockey training to prey on batsmen's minds) makes him the stand-out candidate of the modern era. From what I've read, heard in interviews and seen when he's been giving on-field workshops on fielding he's also one of the most agreeable (and sporting) characters in the history of the sport. Honourable mentions should go to Atherton, Russell, Fraser, Ramprakash, Kirsten, Pollock, Walsh, Hooper, Dujon, Kumble, Murali, Streak, Taibu, Fleming and Rod Marsh My least loved might be Gooch: his pernicious influence on the side (from when he drove out Gower right through to the days when his baleful infuence was from behind the scenes). That said, he faces stiff competition from fatt Gatt... who is just too odious for words... and the honour might actually have to go to Stewart... whose "british bulldog" bull**** and obsession with "character" just got up my nose for year after year. |

| Warne would count for both i guess. I love the way Gilchrist conducts himself in an era when players aren't always honest and i love the way Hoggard will run through a brick wall for his team and do it with a smile on his face. Players i dislike,Shahid Afridi for obvious dancing reasons and Matt Hayden for being a totally arrogant git. |

| I'd not use the term love or hate, but I'd rather use like and dislike. Personally I only ever begin to "like" cricketers when 1)i start thinking of them of as being not just good cricketers but good old round blokes (like Inzi, Yousuf, Sachin, Gary Kirsten, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Richardson, Chanderpaul...etc) 2)or when i start to think they're just good blokes and not neccesserily good cricketers 3)or when i'm fascinated by one of their characterisitcs (for eg i tend to be fond of fat cricketers , and sane haired cricketers, and modest cricketers, and...you know, cricketers with good accents, and the like, Ed Smith variety All other positive feelings I have for cricketers falls in the category of varying degrees of respect and/or admiration. As for negative feelings...i.e. dislike, now that can stem from arogance (McGrath, Smith) stupidity (Shoaib, Warne) superiority complexes (Botham) overdose of sarcasm (Willis) plain big mouth (Aamer Sohail) raciscm (Hair) to just plain no reason dislike (Hayden. |

| Quaggy, I think you'll find that the most one-sided commentator in world cricket is Nasser Hussain - I have never heard someone talk up such woefully inept england performances. My, he could make a Saj Mahmood one day spell sound good!

| Okay, I think this is one of those things where you have quite a number on either side. So, what I normally do, is write down the first names that pop into my head. So here goes: Like: Agree with Rach: Jonty Rhodes! He's just such a nice guy... Dislike: Kevin Pietersen - I dislike this man with a passion! I have some more, but like a box quality street chocolate sweets, these are my favourite favourites. (and in this case, Jonty will be my favourite favourite, and KP will be the one I throw away without opening it |

| Ah Wanderer, I looked at post and saw you dislike KP, then I looked at your user CP and saw that you were South African - does anyone from your country have a good word to say about him? Do we poor English take it that he has no point at all about percieved racism in SA provincial cricket and that he just jumped ship? I'v never known a cricketer to get so much stick from his former countrymen - is it justified?

| Ha ha! Fair does, at least you've tried! I have one thing to say about him, and I hope it's not prophetic - I'm a fan, but I hope that the hype doesn't outweigh the talent. In ten years time, we should be looking back at a guy with 10,000 test runs and 25 centuries, will the rest of his life catch up with him and overshadow his cricket instead, and leave him an unfulfilled talent?
