Winter nets start for me next week! That means next tues, wed and thurs I'll not be able to move. Still, its one step closer to the start of the season.

Anyone elses nets starting or due to start?

Our older juniors have been training all winter, little juniors start next week and seniors the week after. Ive had a few nets since Christmas where Ive established its rare that I see one coming, and even rarer that I hit it, and not much else.

I'm back in the captains hotseat again this season, so nets will be starting middle of feb, with outdoor nets starting first week in April.

Captaincy, good luck! It was bad enough on occasion last season when i was trying to hide 7 fielders. I think i'll stick to being a "senior" player.

We start next Sunday, but I'm going to miss that one.

I had my eyes lasered 2 weeks ago, so I'm hoping I'll be able to see the ball this season!

Some people talk a lot, but they say little.

I think, rather foolishly, we've only planned one net on April 1st. The only problem is I'll be 300 miles away in Plymouth that weekend!

TTFC - you cannot do as bad with the toss as our old captain. He managed to lose 20-odd on the trot before "winning" one against Woodcoombe. And he actually lost that one, and was told to say he'd won... because he'd be lynched for admitting putting the opposition in!

For the first time in years i'm looking forward to having a preseason if only because i missed last years due to losing my gall bladder .

It didnt affect my season though, the first ball i bowled in anger was the first bowled for 6 months and i took a wicket , it didnt feel to good though!
