I played in one of those Mahon tournaments back in 1994.

I think it was in April before the English season began, the weather was absolutely perfect, such a shame that I tore my quadruceps bowling in my first of three games.

So first match first over, rips quadruceps. Second match: sits in bar drinking rose, third match: scores in beautiful technicolour. Lovely.

I'd rather have played cricket though.

Red-it, Red-it, Read it and wept

I spent a good number of summers in Menorca in my youth; especially S'Algar, Mahon and Aranell D'en Castell. That's a long time ago now, but I remember watching the Menorca Cricket Club in action once. Nowadays the place holds as much interest now as a historical context with the history of resistance against the Fascists during the Spanish Civil War and as a former 'province' of Britain.

Suffice it to say that I can't tour Menorca from a base in the Pacific.
