got my first cricketers' autograph

Thanks to my father, who was in the Worcestershire hospitality suite, while they played Hampshire. He got me the great man's autograph, Shane Warne.

Fantastic "scalp" to get as your first, as it were. Much better than my one (and so far only) autograph, which is James Kirtley in a peeved mood. It was R J K and a squiggle.

A friend got me Rhodes, Cronje and Shaun Pollock's when they had a Christian Evening in Cape Town some years ago. She also got the whole 1999 West Indian team and the South African team for me as well as for herself. They must have been sick of the sight of her.

I bumped into the Australian World Cup team in Port Elizabeth Airport just after the game where they knocked England out. I had just got a phone camera, so I took a picture of McGrath and Hayden, asked Lee for one, but he didn't want to as he was "Eating Chips" (he had them in a bag but he hadn't touched them)!!

Hmm I fear I'm somewhat outgunned on this thread in the international profile stakes with my first cricketing autograph being former Surrey and Warwickshire left arm seamer Michael Bell way back in 93 .
