The Latest Teaser Quiz

Yes, I know its random, but in honour of the multinational nature of this board. Here's the start of a brain teaser thread.

The question is simple and has only one part. Bas Zuiderent (Holland and Sussex cricketer) comes second only to Sachin Tendulkar in setting a cricketing record.

What is the record for which Bas comes second to Sachin?

The person who gets the question right first earns the right to pose the next teaser!

No. Neither of you are right here. It is a record you'd want to have if you were a batter if that's any help!

Wild guess:

Bas Zuiderent must have made the second highest score against Namibia by any player..I have a feeling he scored a 100 for Holland in the WC against them and Sachin made a 150 so that way he could be second only to Sachin ...but I'm just guessing, and have no idea if I'm right/wrong

Certainly closer to the target, but not quite there. He gained the second place for this record back in the World Cup in 95/96 as I recall if that's any help!

Hi every1 new member here.

Zuiderent is the second youngest cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to score a World Cup fifty.

I've just re-calculated and checked that both Sachin and Zuiderent were still 18 when they scored their 50s.

Sachin's 50 against Pakistan in the 1992 world cup was scored on 4 march 1992 and he was supposed to turn 19 on 24 April that year (Sachin was born in 1973)

Zuiderent's his 50 against England was scored on 22 February 1996 and he was supposed to turn 19 on March 3 that year (Zuiderent was born in 1977)

Sachin still holds that record though, but only by a few days
