Creative juices

it depends if some poster or other has got the creative juices bubbling away in the back of their brains. Sometimes you do have to hang on to the coat tails of a poster and follow along. The board gets warm when people start to relax after a few beers, which is like about now. Friday is the day off in my pad, so i've been chilling all day;So the creative juices are now bubbling along.

Incidently , We should of batted first.
The board does get a bit gentle paced at times, and there are some bods on the board who spark me off.

So light the touch paper please.

I'm starting to get quite annoyed by people on here saying we should have batted first. And I notice it's all being said with the benefit of hindsight. I notice you lot didn't say this at the beginning of play yesterday, and would be the first to whinge and moan saying we should have bowled first had England been 120 for 6 at the end of play.

Who foresaw so few overs being bowled in yesterdays favourable conditions? Just as it started swinging they came off for rain, and only got 2 more overs in before bad light stopped play - no-one foresaw that either.

So how smart is it to start saying now we should have batted first? Lets try and form opinions based on the evidence put before us, rather than using hindsight - any old fool can do that.

Quite right Jenko, I couldn't agree more. The chat varies dramatically, but is usually good natured, and sometimes very funny. I think the nature of cricket the game can lead us to getting bogged down in minutae such as technique, atmospheric conditions an Trescothick, but it usually throws up a spicy mixture of opinions.

Some threads could do with being jazzed up a bit, Ernie and Goaty, you should be ashamed of your effort the other day that descended into a debate on protozoams and micro doo-dahs! Discragaceful!

On the oherhand, I champion debate on the size of cricketers arses, and dutch swearwords - so I think it's safe to say there's something for everyone.

We should all agree to get totally trashed on-line at a certain time, and have a lively on-line debate making sure we invite you Miss Hit, WUM or no WUM!

ps - what (or who!) sparks you off Jenko?

Um I said yesterday before a ball was bowled that we should bat first and used the India match a couple of years ago at headingly to justify myself; Sorry if I wasn't clear, I wasn't using hindsight, but just (probably annoyingly) saying I told you so!! So please can you temper your comments Scott?

You can check for yourself on the threads yesterday.(Rain)

Goatman or RWS or Ernest or RBLC and Farmer giles are always good 4 a laugh, and your dutch courage yesterday was laugh out loud also ttfc. Insidently Jenko was my nickname at school,(Dartmoor towers for the criminally insane) I've not heard that for a looong time!! bring back alll sorts of memories of my good self in short trousers and various torture methods like forcing me to do homework. I used to explain that If I was intelligent enough to be chosen for the criminal genius syllabus I couldn't possible be expected to hand in my homework.
As va teacher now I ensure I set homework that childre rather than parents of children can do.
