Punter all the way top!

Even Though I may support India
But my admiration for punter!
He is a captain with 2 brains. He thinks quick, he is aggressive on the field. He has never shown signs of defeat. He will fight till the last bowl is bowled. He has the changed Australian Image by winning cups. It's because of his captainship and the sportmanship support from the players which has enabled Australia to become the best side in the world!
Punter Rulez!

My next choice would have been Gangully

Please forgive me Ricky , just saw the selfless ending in the New Zealand v Australia 20/20 International where you allowed yourself to be stranded on 98 not out for the good of the team.
The previous over that you smashed 28-30 runs from Tuffey was reminicant of Rodney Marsh.
Sometimes its easy to take players for granted , I will swallow my words Ponting has greatness attached to him.

ponting

ponting has immortality , what a brilliant knock in Twenty20 match , by the looks of it ponting will be a class captain and player under any circumstance , best captain ever.

Funny... All the English supporters go for Vaughn? From what I saw in the SA series there were a lot of critisisms...

Lets face it, being an aussie captain isnt a hard job, when you've ot hayden, langer, martyn, gilchirst, warne, mcgrath and gillespie . How about vaughan and ponting swapping sides for a test or two. Still think he'd be the best ? Could he get the best out of hoogard, freddie, and especially harmo (which he did up till the SA tour) ?? I very much doubt it.

ok

you cant just walk into a side and get the best out of them , maybe in 6 months minimum , but ponting got the best out of the aussie team straight away because he was never going to be turned down for the "next captain" role , ponting will stear the aussies to an ashes win and a 2007 world cup
