Actually, he hit the winning runs with that exact same shot in the inaugaral Chappell/Hadlee trophy in Brisbane. Perhaps he should have quit while he was ahead. In any case, the disgraceful performance by the rednecks in the stands ensured he was fired up to rip the Kiwis to shreds. I will be surprised if the result is,nt 5-0 Australia unless it rains

i was a redneck in the stands and i loved it . . .

ok - so dissapointed by the result but only ourselves to blame. some dubious shot making at the end, and a complete lack of shot making at the start cost us an easy win.

should have got home with overs to spare

of course should probably say that the tight aussie bowling didn't help the matter . . .

Keep Sledging

Giving the tourists hell can be fun. I did it a fair bit in my younger days when ********** and thouroghly enjoyed myself. But to do it to this Aussie team is asking for trouble. They will now use it as a motivational tool and the poor old Kiwi cricketers will pay the price. The Aussies will go this whole tour undefeated just to spite the crowd. Normally, the Aussies find it hard to motivate themselves against the Kiwis. A bit like playing your little brother in monopoly. They have plenty if motivation now.

2nd ODI

so, are we carrying on here?

why not

tuffey has taken a wicket in his first over - which is something people over here got quite excited about afew years back when it looked like he was starting to make a habit of it. htis is gilly's second failure this series - which means he'll probably smash us round the park in the tests or something . . .

can't see what's going on - but it reads (on cricinfo) like tuffey and mills are serving up a good mix of jaffa's with the usual four-ball. hayden looks like he's found his form . . .

35/1 off 7 and a bit

looks like hayden's heading for a pretty good ton, and flem's running out of options - needs another bowler to take hte pace off. after astle and vettori have both bowled out it's all a bit thin

aus heading for an easy 300+ by the looks . . .

185/2 of 35.3, wilson bowling pies

yup, had a look at hte team lists and flems in trouble

about the only other bowling option he's got is macca - not renowned for keeping things tight, though could bring a wicket or two . . .

while marshall and sinclair have bowled at FC/list A level i'd imagine they'd get killed vs aus

Big total 313. Is the ground tiny or is it just a good batting performance from the Aussies
