Moan, moan, moan RBLC!!! Really, this is just for fun sort of social thing to allow people to meet each other and have a bit of a tipple. Who said physical activity would be the focus of the day? If you need an oxygen tent to raise a pint to your lips, that's a sad state of affairs!!

Anyway - summary so far:

Me vs RBLC in a mad batting challenge in the middle of August in Chertsey or Essex
Zainub and Acker watching their computer screens eagerly for news of the latest event in the match

Plus, the potential for a W-A-T ashes match versus an Acker Beered Up XI.... Actually, that doesn't sound half bad!!

Actually Andy although I'd love to keep track of the action my self (not only this action, but in general every thing that happens at the WAT forums) but I've got some really important and big events happening in my life this summer so I'd probably not be able to do it my self. I'd be temporarily away from strat of April to end of August. But I'm planning on leaving someone here who can do the talking on my behalf and conversly keep me up with what happens.

Ah, lovely Colchester... Well, we'll see what happens. If other people would prefer/find Essex easier to get to than London, then I might be able to find somewhere to play there.

I shall try to make it, but need some notice to secure the weekend off work! In theory, I could probably make quite a lot of those weekends at the moment.

Well, living in Australia, highly doubtful....In fact impossible, good thought though

However, I'm sure a couple of WAT members may come down to Australia for the Ashes in 06/07....Maybe this could be the first of many WAT Internationals!!

Andy, I fixed the poll now so it allows multiple choice. If you have already voted but want to add your name to more options let me know and I'll do it via the database directly.

Can I be the ump so I can wear a giant foam hand to signal with? Might come up with some original signals, as well. How about a thumbs down signal for a no-ball? For a wide, I thought maybe lift an arm up and spray the armpit with deoderant and then do the opposite armpit. Or how about waving both arms about like the robot in Lost in Space "Warning, warning!"

I like the idea of this but I think it is unlikely that I would be able to get down to London to play. (and unlikely that my mum would trust me to go down to London for a game of cricket). If I could get down it would probably be in August because I can guarantee that I wont have any college work or exams to worry about. As it is it will probably rain and I'll have to watch the highlights on TV like Zainub and the Aussies. So the match remains Andy vs RBLC with Admin umpiring? The TV audience (currently 4) will outnumber the participants (3). Not bad.

Well Statto, I think I've bagseyed Kirsty for my team at the moment. Me and Kirsty vs RBLC and Admin (and I'm sure I'll convince him to play rather than just be umpire)

Come on people! I know there's other people out there who haven't replied. A 2 vs 2 cricket match might be a bit tiring for fielding!!
