Ponting quaking in his boots: Part 3

Nothing new said here that hasn't been already said, but purely in the wake of WAT tradition, I just had to start a new thread on this. To me this spells nothing but confidence, confidence, and more confidence. The BCC though think otherwise and have therefore headlined the story as "Ponting wary of improved England".

But if Australia start well and get them down, then all of a sudden you've got the press, the public and basically everyone who watches England cricket on your back.

And a more or less similar frame of mind was conveyed by Justin Langer in his latest column for the BBC. Although I much more preffer the way he phrased his predictions in.

[size=2]There is no doubt there will be something of an Ashes frenzy leading up to the first Test at Lord's, and for the game of cricket this is great. But when crunch time arrives and the first ball is bowled at the home of cricket by Steve Harmison or Glenn McGrath, the team who is best prepared for the pressure of the Ashes will be the one to reap the rewards.

"quacking" ! Ricks gone mad the pressure of building a stupendously high batting avererage has got to him.
He thinks he's a Duck !

I hope he spends some quality time in a serene asylum cut off from the outside world and mobile phones so Warnie cant get text to him, before he departs for England.

Its bad enough he was'nt on hand to accept the winning trophy and accolades from the Indian tour, without Adam Gilchrist stealing his Ashes winning moment of glory due to a pre-existing mental condition.

It go's to show that being Shane Warnes captain is very mentally taxing...

LOL! We're re-naming the Aussie team, 'the ducks'...

Come on, guys! I'm going to bet you both speak and write fewer languages than Zainub! What about helping her out?

(Zainub: the word you were looking for was "quaking", which we all understood, of course!)

Mind you, if Flintoff and Harmison are fit, Ponting may well do quite a bit of "quacking" .

Good man, Beny! My life here finds me having to speak Czech quite a lot, and I make loads of mistakes. I'm sure I give many people a few laughs (certainly the lady friend seems to find my efforts quite funny), but what I really value, once the laughs have finished, is a bit of help. The lady friend thinks I am beyond help, but that's another story altogether ...

OF, having lived in France for a while with my wife I understand completely where you're coming from - you know that you've done it again when there's a stunned silence other than your partner stifling a laugh

So yours stifles her laughter, does she? Can't say I've noticed that phenomenon. More of a roar than a stifled snigger as a rule!

The one time she couldn't contain herself was when I explained in perfect French that I didn't urinate on the side of the road (an unfortunately common French custom) because I didn't have the appropriate equipment. Even her mother laughed out loud at that point...
