Andy, I cast my vote in New Forest East, where the map has also been blue for as long as anyone can remember. I will cast it though: every vote has the potential to affect the outcome. Right? Well, erm ... Still, I'll vote anyway. Somehow, I just can't bring myself not to stand up and be heard once every few years when we have the chance.

I think if I was in your position, I would still have voted Andy, so what if it makes no difference, but it's your right, so why not exercise is, a lot of unfortunate souls on this planet can't even do that. I don't like politics too much either, but I don't hate it either. Sometime politicicians can be very funny, especially when they're having a go at each other, they make great fools of each of themselves. And its quite amusing.

Ernie, I'll try and watch that. Thanks for recomending. And I followed the US elections too, not Bush Algore one though, this recent one between Bush and what's was his name, yeah Kerry, Kerry the long face i.e. But it was more in the hope that Bush would lose, less for the sake of entertaintment.

If you do a poll, could you please put an option in for 'It's a secret ballot, I'm not telling anyone' or something along those lines?

Thankfully, I don't have to live with the goverment in Britan which means that I can like Blair as much as I want . I'm interested though, other than the 'war of terror' (which has more than doubled the number of terrorists in the world) , what do we all have against Blair?

His Bush bashing. Have you ever seen them addressing a joint press confrence, it's like they were made for each other in heaven or summat - and since I can't possibly like Bush, I can't like any of his friends either.

Now Zanuib that's not very fair.
Just about every other leader in the world would happily pose pleasantly with Bush and play the 'I'm your best freaind' card in the interests of diplomacy. I don't think we can really know what the two think of each other. Also the label of 'liar' is a bit harsh. If you're refering to WMD's, I have little doubt that they both thought that Husssian did have the wepons. I remember seeing an interview with Clinton in which Clinton said something along the lines of 'I know that Bush was'nt lying about WMD's, because the intelligence aganices were telling me the same thing when I was president'. A report recently came out in America saying the same thing.

On a personal side he seems rather nice to me...

Beny/Zainub,
I am not keen on having to much of ago at Bush, I remember when he was elected, he was not interested in overseas affairs, he was more interested in streamlining the economy.
I think it is fair to say that 9/11 changed Bush, he had to be seen to be doing something, he was in an impossible possition, dragged by events, like Britain in the Fauklands conflict.
All our three nations have colaberated with Bush on security matters, along with some others.
Australia fought alongside the British in both Gulf wars, if my memory serves me right.

Ern I HATE Bush because of his religious conservatism... The man drives me nuts. On top of that he's an idot. His streamlineing of the economy has failed miserably and the way he's attempted to do it begs ethical questions. Bush did not need to invade Iraq, Afganistan is a question mark for me. The thing is that he has run, gung-ho and ideologicly into war. He's polarised the world comunity (which is another reason I hate him) and created fear in the western world and to quote Yoda . 'Fear leads to hatred, hatred leads to the dark side'.

Regardless though, this is'nt what the thread is about. My question still stands. Why else do we hate him?
