On Either One Hand...Or The Other!

Approximately 1 in 8 people in the world are left-handed, including myself. I thought I would ask the forum whether people are right or left handed, I wonder if it is 1 in 8, so please complete the poll and comment if you so desire.

(For clarity we will define right-handed or left-handed to be which hand you write with.)

I am right handed. I bowl and throw right handed, yet I can bat with either left or right hand. I can write left handed as well (though pretty badly) so I have a certain amount of ambidexterity about me.

I write left-handed, play racket sports, snooker and pool left-handed. Play cricket completely right-handed, throw right-handed but am more accurate throwing screwed up paper in the bin left-handed (trained myself). I use scissors and screw-drivers right-handed, I used to use a screwdriver left-handed then suddenly, unexpectedly, switched to right-handed. I find that whatever I can do, or train myself to do, with my left-hand, I can usually do at about 75% right-handed.

The poll should throw up an accurate result, given a reasonable number of pollsters. However, there is the chance that there will be a higher than normal proportion of lefties, as cackhanders may be more inclined to make the effort to vote and score a notch for a minority breed. I personally love left handers, especially batsmen. I used to get quite a few wickets with my big inswing (outswing to a right-hander) getting them bowled or lbw. So come on you cackers, join in, vote, and share the love!

And right handed people, vote too.

I am basically left handed, but I eat right handed and use my right hand to use scissors!

I'm right-handed now, but I distinctly remember being ambidextrous when I was a small child.

Apart from writing, which I'm right handed, I'm left handed at golf (crazy anyway), tennis (crap at) cricket with both bat and ball, left footed at football and can use a screwdriver with either hand.

For most other activities I use both hands.

I'm right-handed but can do certain things left handed. I taught myself to bowl left handed as a change ball. Certainly surprises the batsmen. My mum was born left handed but had it whipped out of her and is right handed now!

I am right handed, and so is my brother, but our parents are both left handed.

No, we're not adopted!

What do you mean when you say you eat right-handed? Knife in right-hand? That's how I eat (I am left-handed).
