That's the spirit, Lemming

Now the BBC web site have given how the vote stood at each round of voting:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/othe...12/4656529.stm

Interstingly, London was ahead of Paris at every stage, but Madrid was actually in the lead for the first two rounds. Paris only lost to Madrid by two votes at that stage!!! Paris did a bad job at the end, after being the clear leaders a short while ago.

How about chopping it up into little small chunks and using it to fuel the Olympic torch. Actually, how about chopping up half of London and using that too.

How would some English sporting legends light the Olympic flame?

Beckham - would bend a flaming ball around the French bid team and into the mouth of the torch

Harmy - would bounce a flaming ball into the hands of GO Jones, who would drop it onto he top of the torch

Danny Grewcock - would catch the flaming torch in a lineout, then beat the nearest Frenchie over the head with it

English Women's Beach Volleyball Team - wouldn't be able to light it, as they have nowhere to keep the matches

I work in the Greenwich area, and what I find intersting is that while people (rightly, to some extent) write off the Dome as a failure, they are unaware of the postive impact it had on the Greenwich area as a whole. We got a tube connection to central Lndon, and improved access to rail connections in the South East and East of England (before if traveling to, say Chelmsford from Charlton, you would have to go all the way to Waterloo, take 2 tube's right back around to Liverpool Street and then get another train, now we hop on a bus to North Greenwich tube, two stops to Stratford and away you go!). Further, the whole of North Greenwich has been redeveloped with new houses, a lovely retail park, restaurents and a really top-rate cinema. A lot of good did come out of the dome, ultimately.

Or we could get Glenn McGrath over here to bowl a flaming ball at Kevin Pietersen, who could smack it back over his head a distance of 100 yards inot the torch! I'd like to see that!

No chance of that happening.Thompson would mess up the throw.

It's good that the transport connections have been improved and the area in general. I was being a little tounge-in-cheek about the dome. But with the Olympics coming up I can see a great use for it now!

Imagine this!

"Onnnne-hunnnndred-and-eeeeeeeeeeighty!"

"[enter dartist's name here, it could be Lemming] you require 35!"

"Game shot, match and the Olympic title, [enter dartist's name here, it could be Lemming]"

Yes you've guessed it! The Millenium Dome could well host the Olympic darts competition, I'd love to see that, or even be there playing! Lovely Stuff!

Is Wimbledon going to host the tennis tournament? If it is then that would be ace!
