Lose one ODI and we are suddenly losers?
Hmmmm. Cant remember the last time we had nationwide tickertape parades and players getting knighted for winning a world cup ie your union team. Need i say anymore about the English, how can i say it, extraordinary passion for soccer. "it's only a game" and "it's not if you win the game, but how you play it" were phrases coined by sorry buggers who were just trying to make themselves feel better because they always lost.
Tell me about it. That's why so many people want to immigrate here. High wages and living standards, affordable housing, low unemployment, beautiful places to vist and beautiful weather to visit them in. I've seen the world and always cant wait to get home. Does'nt mean i don't care if my national teams do well or not. I love sport and it is always far more fun if the team you support wins, don' you agree? |
I can't disagree with anything you say. I just say keep it in perspective. We don't se sport as important as you lot. That's a little difference. Proably cos we livein colder climes and we gotta get wrapped up to go out evenin July - like i did today.
Couldn't give a toss about rugby union. It's only played by public school boys in this country. And s most public school boys are in TV - they made a big deal out of it. Few in my part ofthe world - The North of England - was that bothered. Mind you i was a bit pleased we beat you lot. It's sadly the same for cricket. It is truely a minority sport. which has become a laughing stock thru 20 yrs of failure. You don't see kids playing it any more.
I think we both have wonderful countries. I have family in Melbourne. All this doesn't changeth fact your boys are gonna lose. And that's good for cricket, mate. In this country at least.
thanks for concern re my high horse. I am well strapped in.
