The name 'Essex' was already taken, so I had to think a little bit more small-mindedly....

-----------------------

The Republic of Brentwoodshire is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Healthcare, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 45%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Woodchip Exports industry.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Brentwoodshire's national animal is the rabbit, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the tic-tac.

-----------------------

Sounds like I may have already eradicated the horrible affliction of accountancy - or at least capitalism - in my country.

But all this may change in future.

Good morning oh great and wise leaders!

I have been accepted as a member of the UN. Having done further research, I recommend you all join also, as it will give you all the opportunity to make more decisions and see more changes in your country's.

Once a few of us have joined the UN we can elect one of us to bt a regional representative, and that person can make UN propsols which all of the other UN members can vote on. (There seem to be thousands of UN members out there!)

Oh, and appaently because I opted for ensure animal's were treated well before being killed to feed my people, meat-eating is now 'frowned on' in my country! Oh well, I now have six million loyal subjects, which is a plus. Am now reshaping my economy, so that the rich pay lots of tax!

Sparkeys Upd8

There's electricity in the air in The Rogue Nation of Sparkeys!

All the energy flying around has caused a baby boom (surprisingly the gestation period on our island is one day!) and a million more apprentice sparkeys have begun their education. All the criminals have been reducated and are busy with their parallel and series curcuits.

A complaint has been received from some of the more reserved female inhabitants. They want to be able to make love with the lights off.

My brother has decided that I should make all the decisions because everyone else is under the duvets canoodling.

I'm ranked number 2 in the region at the moment, beaten by only The Fiefdom of Kirsten Clones. Let me guess, is that Rachael? I also have UN status, although Lemmo would prefer to not have any outside influence, we would very much like to have an inpact on the world!

I'm 5th in the region, and 44693 in the world. Looks like a long way to number 1

Really? I have joined and it still seems pretty similar - how do I make changes to my country?

Let's do it now, all for creating some havoc at the UN...

LOL. I said that mining in environmentally sensitive areas should continue but only in small areas, to preserve the darn rainforests..and now they say that there is widespread deforestation! Not only that, a harmless soap which I allowed in the name of freedom of speech, and to discourage censorship, is now called "alarmingly racist"!

Maranello is our UN delegate, as voted. I just joined World A Team, and my country is known as "The Republic of Zimpaoli:

The Republic of Zimpaoli is a tiny, pleasant nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Healthcare, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 21%. A robust private sector is led by the Soda Sales, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Book Publishing industries.

Crime is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Zimpaoli's national animal is the partridge and its currency is the zimp.

I'm going to change a few things around though...
