| The profanity rule prevented me from typing the words - J e s u s and C h r i s t... hope I haven't offended anyone by typing them with spaces.... PS they are only swear words when used as such, and too often they are used as such |

To use them unnecessarily is to blaspheme. Though I guess that some frequent users would say that they are using them entirely necessarily. I would anyway. I am agnostic. I have read the bible almost from cover to cover, some of my ancestors followed the Judaic faith, and I have read vast tranches of the Koran. If I had to pick a religion, I'd avoid Jedi and more likely pick Druid. I am most certainly a Celt (of Brythonic extraction). I am always massively amused to read the same tales in each set of "religious" scriptures. Many similar images crop up in every nations legends. It is as well that no religion with which I am familiar portrays it's saviour as a wandering one-eyed healer with a broad brimmed hat. Otherwise I might think they'd taken the story from somewhere else. Now that is blasphemy. So no offence meant.

| Please though, start it on a different thread; all this thread was meant to be was a thread about which religion you follow. Start a seperate thread for theology please. |

If a Pope was to utter such a statement, then I think he would be unsound in mind, and would have to be replaced. Religion is a strange thing, people these days tend to turn to it, when they feel the need. Myself I was baptised into the RC church, and as a youngster attended mass every week, but to be honest, that in part was because my father told me to, and also at the back of my mind, I believed, or at least in part believed, there would be consiquences had I not attended. Nowadays I don't go to church, although I think I believe in an afterlife, my faith has dwindled over the years, in fact maybe I wish I had a stronger faith, as without doubt those who do believe, have that something to hold on to.

| I'm an athiest, with a fondness for the Budhist outlook. My body seems to be migrating that direction as I get older too .My wife is a Christian 7th day adventist, but I tend to feel I have seen too much of life to believe in any all controlling, caring entity, nor do I feel any need to believe in the existence of 1 or more deities. |

| I was thinking about religion the other day as it happens. How are we sure the ancient greeks etc didnt get it right with there version? And could it be in 2000 years time, we'll be having a laugh at believing in the catholic/islamic/jewish faiths as we all troop out of our scientolgy/jedi/greek god churchs/temples.
