What Religion do you follow?

Just inquiring as it'd be good to find out.

I'm a devout agnostic. I'm utterly convinced that it's impossible to convinced either way!

Mongoose just says that to cover his back!

I'm utterly convinced that I know what's going on and I'm not at all scared to state I'm an atheist. It's official!

Non practicing Lutheran. Been christaned but hav'nt gone to church in years. I generally believe we are a bunch of chemicals and nothing more and there is no god, but would like to proven otherwise before i die. Christians seem so ...... Happy, contented. Strongly believe in christian values.

I sort of agree, I don't really belive myself, but I have great respect for other people's faith. I like to remain open-minded.

To be against something you have to consider it worth being against... and to be honest.. it's fairer to say of most of us that we've simply moved on beyond the point where the question is even meaningful: faith seems such a curious notion that we simply struggle to get our heads around it.

Well, I understand everybody's points, but after a brief flirtation with atheism last year, i finally rediscovered my catholicism this year. No I don't go to church; in fact the last few times I've been were funerals or rosaries etc...but I just think that it is necessary to believe in a powerful force if you believe there is an afterlife. I'd hope that there is, but am not utterly convinced.

Fair enough.

Now how does that add up. In any other demonination I'd be saying "fair enough" a second time... but isn't Catholicism founded, in part, around the notion that the the Pope sits as ***** ****** (if that's deleted it's JC) in the Vatican... and the idea that when he speaks "ex-cathedra" he speaks in place of the Holy Spirit.. and that certain of his utterences are therefore God's command - including the injunction to attend Church.

I once asked a Catholic friend who didn't attend Church about this... and when I suggested, rather tentatively, that in not attending Church he was putting two fingers up to his God and saying **** off.... he concluded (albeit without being very sure of hsi theological ground) that he probably was.

Not a problem for a Methodist, Baptist, Anglican or whatever.. but for a Catholic? Do set me straight!
