I now know both the indentity of the death in book 6, and how they die, courtesy of a Year 10 student talking loudly to her friend today. I reprimanded her for her carelessness, and made it clear she had completely ruined everything for me, making her feel very guilty.

No, sadly I'm all Muggle. The best I can do is a few basic card tricks.

I've been on a bit of a book spending spree today. I bought three more books by Dan Brown (Angels and Demons, Digital Fortress nd Deception Point), in the Works, for £12 and then noticed the latest Harry Potter book for £7.98 in ASDA, bargin! I'm hoping to have read all of these by about three weeks, weather depending (cricket)!

I'm currently reading a fantasy book by Raymond E Fiest called Magician, it's going pretty slowly at the moment, but I'm enjoying it.

Soon have a star rating for all of the above books!

Finished it that very day. I'd say that it was much better than Order of the Phoenix although some parts were somewhat useless and added nothing to the story, really. As people have been discussing if E Blyton and JRR Tolkien were better than Rowling, here is an interesting comparison by the BBC of Rowling and other great authors.

I'd give Simon Singh **** [ ] for Fermat's Last Theorem. Surely, the maths involved to solve such a difficult problem would be too hard for most people to understand. But the author did a brilliant job at explaining the maths to the ordinary reader, while still keeping some hard bits in the appendices for maths lovers. And it was all done in a very interesting manner. At no place did I feel bored by the narrative.

Do you have any suggestions for how to give half stars?

Didn't work that time. How about going into Word, finding a 'half star' symbol, typing it, copying and pasting it here. Long-winded, but I know just how desperate you are to get this right, Alison. And your commitment is really commendable.
