Police kill Attempted Suicide Bomber

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/com...55E661,00.html

Thank God Yesterday's attacks didn't go as it planned. May these cowards get what they deserve.

Quote:
We can confirm that just after 10 am today armed officers shot a male at Stockwell Underground station," a spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police said.

The suspect was shot by police at Stockwell station, while he was trying to board a train, Sky News reported.

The man was believed to have been killed, Sky reported.

Passengers said that a man - described as South Asian - ran onto a train. Witnesses said police chased him, he tripped, then they shot him. "They pushed him onto the floor and unloaded five shots into him. He's dead," witness Mark Whitby told the BBC

Not sure whether it was a suicide bomber, or some other sort of criminal. No comment from the Police yet on the BCC, only some eye-witness accounts:

Well, the Herald Sun says "Police kill Suicide Bomber". I don't know how you can kill a suicide bomber, as they kill themselves, I wrote a more apt term; attempted. Does anyone think this is the bloke who ran from the train yesterday?

Initial reports said suicide bomber. Although I normally dont like heavy handed policing, I like this. If he was anyway connected or any possiblity of him being a suicide bomber after the last two weeks "shoot first ask questions later" seems the way to go.

This is going to be a dangerous policy. What if the police are mistaken and shoot an innocent person,or just aim badly and get someone else by accident.Could be some long court cases ahead.

Exactly. You can't take any chances at the moment.

They're coppers; in the state of London at the moment, they'll get off.

They'll be an inquiry but there is after every incedent where a ploicemen uses a firearm. If I had been on the carrage and shot in the cross fire, as long as I wasnt dead, I'd be pretty grateful !

I would be too,but you know what some people are like. You can see the new adverts on the telly.

"Have you been injured by a policeman doing his duty,or slipped tripped or fallen at work?"The ambulance chasers will have a field day.

LOL ! You and pete are far to cynical. Unless it was "proper" negligence ie he dropped the gun with the safety off and there was no danger anyway it went off THEN shot me, I wouldnt sue, and I've little time for people who would.
