I've played on Normal all along; I didn't realise until my fifth season. I'm decent but inconsistent, and the only bowler to average under 30 is Harmison; 29.50 or thereabouts. I'm ranked sixth in tests, despite having beaten India 1-0, Australia 3-1, West Indies 2-1 all away. Bangladesh are ranked four in tests!

It's quite a bit of fun; though my side is ageing, but Panesar has been brilliant since taking over the retired Ash Giles. My Lancs keeper is now Warren Hegg, who had an injury layoff. I gave him a three year deal at forty years old and now he is forty three. I hope he stays on; because I'll definitely give the lad another three years!

When I got the England job Danvers of Worcs was in the side and is a brilliant spinner, I brought in Blackwell too for a double spin attack.

Just had a thought Paoli, is there not an Australian version or something similar/better in Australia?

Has anyone noticed on ICC2005 that the players career stats don't seem to add up right? For example Andrew Strauss tends to get about 4-5 centuries per season for me in Test Matches. But in 2011 he only has 17, surely he should have 25+. Its the same with wickets. Danvers is mytop bowler getting 75 test wickets per year, only has 300 in total though.

Is it a known bug?

Excuse my lateness on this reply Steven. No, there is no domestic season so I had to be England. Anyway, I was Zimbabwe and my squad is reeling since Gavin Ewing retired at 31 (that young, I couldn't believe it).

In 42 tests he averaged 58.67 with the bat, making 30 centuries, and 25.00 with the ball, having taken over 250 wickets. Heath Streak, Murray Goodwin, Stuey Carlisle, Ray Price, Paul Strang and a host of others all gone.

Don't know about the bug, but when I played as England, players were known to go till they were 40. In Zimbabwe, they retire alot earlier. Perhaps something to do with the physio option.

Paoli did you say whether there was any cricket games worth having in Australia?

Is anyone still playing the game. I am in 2011 as captain of Derbyshire and England. I have just brought Alistair Cook in for his test debut at 26. In his first series against India who are second in the world he scored 111*, 20*, 172* and 2* batting at 3 in a drawn 1-1 series. He is showing as an average of 305!!

Paoli, just decided to start an 'international only' game as Zimbabwe - ranked 10th in tests and ODI's, see where I get with that. Playing on Easy level.

I've picked the following team

Carlisle
Wishart
Johnson
Goodwin (c)
Bignaut
Friend
Steak
Taibu (wk)
Strang
Panyangara
Price

Playing New Zealand and lost the toss, Streak and Bignaut have got a wicket each and limited New Zealand to 39-2 in 19 overs.
