RBLC, I have just had a weird deja vu about this post. Seriously have you posted this same sort of thing a few weeks ago (in my deja vu you deleted the post).

It's a subject that crops up regularly. Geoff Boycott will tell you that Jones drops catches his mother could have caught in her apron - but that would be cheating and I'm sure Jones would keep better if he were allowed to use Geoff's Mum's apron!!

I'll start.

Can we afford the missed stumpings that will occur with GO Jones wearing a pair of gloves behind the stumps doing what is loosely termed "keeping"?

I think Beny is a bit troubled. It's only a game, mate! The english are better at it than the Aussies now. some time it will change around again. And the Aussies will be better at it than us. Cheer up!

I did indeed PR, but on a thread that had little to do with it hence the new thread here. Using only the power of his mind and some new fangled gadetary Ern will merge this and the last page or so of the other thread quicker than winking.

At least I am not going mad then.

As far as keepers go I would take Read and Jones as his deputy. Prior is not as good a keeper as Jones from reports I have read. If Read is a proper wicket keeper (all that should matter) why isn't he in the team when his batting has improved so much.

Spinners - Giles, Swann and then Pasenar of Nothants as the third choice.

(ps Notts Exile - I have chosen 2 Notts players there who'd have thought it!)

Edited to remove accidental religious references! That censoring is a bit keen isn't it!!
