Poorly dead and dying

I've flu, not a cold proper flu (its been a week and its getting worse.....) and who ever I speak to has it as well - and most just before they get their flu jabs (an NHS conspiracy ?)

So who else has it then ? Any remedys would be useful (that isnt lempsip - its running neat through my veins by now )

That's a tough one, RBLC, and I'm sorry for you. The Czechs always say about these things that if you treat them they will go away in two weeks. If you do nothing, it will take a fortnight. I think they're right.

My patented treatment for the symptoms, though not the cause, is a good slug of the MacAllan as and when required. You will find that three or four before you retire will not actually make you feel any better, but it will make you less likely to care about it.

All of my workplace either has it or has had it and my wife and little boy have got it really bad. I can feel the net tightening and I know I will be next!

Oh dear - poor you!! Have a virtual hug from me to help you feel better!

My tip would be to use Vicks VapourRub, which always makes me feel a bit better. Pop some in a bowl of hot water and inhale for 10-15 minutes (it feels a bit yucky, but you'll feel loads better after). Also rub some into your forehead, throat, chest and neck. Warning: you wil stink to high heaven for about a week!!

Use a hot water bottle to keep warm and snug!

Finally, try taking Night Nurse before you go to be at night, and you will sleep much better.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thankyou for the hug kirsty I feel warm al over now. Mind you after runny nose and aching limbs, today we welcome "sat in the office sweating like a demon". Funnily enough I tried the bowl of hot water and vicks in last night - without reading your post (spooky!). Well as I felt really ill I put in 3 big teaspoons rather than one and used boiling water instead of hot. By golly, Icould breath very well for a bit, but I had my eyes open, so any benifit was lost in the panic of tempory blindness, just to rub it in, I then spilt said water over my "upper thigh area". So it tdoes work well but kids DONT LEAVE YOUR EYES OPEN. I read on the net yesterday that although the virus only lasts for 3-5 days the symptons can last for up to SEVERAL WEEKS !!!!!

My advice would be to rub the McAllan all over your upper area, as well as sniffing some added to a bowl of boiling water. Then add some Vics Vapourub to a mug of warm honey and drink it.

It can't do any worse that the other methods you're trying!

Ooo! I don't watch that, I'm more of an Animal Hospital kind of guy. If you need any help with split hooves or sexing hamsters - I'm your man!

Extra strong peppermints can help loosen up your congestion, and will distract you from your symptoms (a little hint here though, they're not taken orally!)
