Giles in the test team.

Very, umm, strange choice given Vettori was chosen for the World XI (where he played well), has two test centuries and Giles took 10 wickets at 50 against Australia recently.

As the old adage goes however; to each, his own.

I would love to have Vettori in the England side to replace Giles. There is no contest as to which is the better player. As patriotic to all things English as i am even i can see Vettori is a far better all round cricketer than Giles.

WHo I'm sure bowled vettorri (oooh me leg hurts) of the park when the NZs played us. Can be bothered to check the figures though.

Vettori certainly takes more wickets/game than ashley does.

Very selective stats there. I'm putting them in as either/or for variety, and the fact that I rate Giles very highly, not just from a patriotic point of view.

1) Trescothick
2) Smith
3) Gayle
4) Cook
5)
6)
7) Adam Gilchrist (well, he can catch pretty well with his right hand, since he doesn't bowl)
8) Ashley Giles
9)
10) Simon Jones
11) Nathan Bracken?

Okay, I'm stuck.

What about Inzamam? He bats right-handed, throws and bowls left-handed. And Ijaz Ahmed, likewise.

I've seen Inzi bowl - seriously dodgy action. Has a wicket to his name though, in fact got one of the very first ball in his career - a feat, no other members of this current Pakistan team has done!
