Your Favourite Football Club

For me, its Arsenal, English premier league club. They are one of the most interesting teams to follow. Their players pass the ball so quickly and they play fast-paced football. I think the best quality in this team is their passing, one of the best. They have one of the world's best players,Thierry Henry, in their team. Although, of late, this has somewhat reduced due to the departure of Patrick Vieira. I'm sure most of the members of this forum are also football fans. Which is your favourite football club and why?

Mmm...you've only got one of my favourite teams up there, being Barcelona. In the Premiership I'm a Newcastle United fan, for many reasons. I actually started following them the year before Shearer got there, i.e the year before they became a powerhouse club. Now, with Michael Owen, I think we're moving forward.

Inter Milan is who I follow in the Serie A, and with Adriano there anything really is possible. Unfortunately though, our midfield isn't quite as flash apart from Veron and Figo, so I'd expect us in the market for a Marco Bresciano type in January.

And the last league that I follow with any interest is the Bundesliga, where I follow Borussia Dortmund. Unfortunately, they've been plagued by financial trouble lately but seem to be on the up again and in line for a UEFA Cup/Champions League spot.

Well I've always been a huge QPR fan, ever since they were in the priemership, we struggle nowadays and are a mid-table Championship team, but I've never lost faith!! Thats why I have a newly found respect for Ashley Giles having found out his fave team! We've had all the best players here; Les Ferdinand, Trevor Sinclair, Andy Impey, Peter Crouch, the list continues...

I ticked the Juventus box because they are my fave european team, due to a certain Alessandro Del Piero, arguably the best player in the world... It was a shame his career couldnt have been better due to injurys...

Ohh, Crouch. I'll have a little wager with anyone whose prepared to take me on. What's say he doesn't score a goal this season? That's my take.

Yeah, Juve are a great club and despite the fact that AC are considered the galactico/glamour club, Juve always surprise them and win the scudetto. 28 they've won.

I'm slightly ashamed to say i'm a Gillingham fan, (English League 1) managerless, millions of pounds in debt, no players worthy of playing for them, hammered 5-0 on Saturday.
I could rant on like this all day!
Of those on the list, Barcelona are my faves. Mainly because they win.

Yea, thats true... Juve have only lost one game I think so far this season.. Their probably the Chelsea of Serie A at the moment.. They are priobably my tip for the champions league possibly!

Hmmmm.. Crouchy has started to play quite well for Liverpool, playing some nice balls and making good moves.. I do find it funny, how long hes gone without a goal but I do feel he probably deserves a couple... Just needs a bit more luck!

One journalist recently said it's touch-and-go whether the kids will be able to unwrap their 'I saw Crouch score' t-shirts by Christmas - maybe Easter. I think Crouch will either (a) never score another goal again, even when dropping down the the Conference and taking all his team's penalties for 5 years, or (b) He'll score a hat-trick to earn a 3-2 win v Man Utd at Old Trafford.

Liverpool is my team, although I'm disapppointed to see neither Macclesfield Town or Stockport County on the list.

After last night's game, Doncaster Rovers could be featuring soon - 3-0 v Villa, and passing it around like Brazil, with a stunning dribble and top corner 25-yarder for the 3rd goal.

That's OK Adam, I'm a Forest fan and we currently have the highest wage bill in that division by a million miles and still cannot win away (except the Priestfield), too many players really not earning their over-inflated salaries!

Overseas: I'm a big Fiorentina fan - going over there to see Viola-Roma next April. Went to Atletico-Espanol in Madrid at the weekend.

I think Forest fans are about the only other fans who can understand how followers of Stockport (my local club) have suffered recently. This time 5 years ago we were 4th in Div 1 (now the Championship). We finished about 17th that season, and have since failed to finish outside the bottom five I think. Any way, whenever we've been relegated, the manager has proudly predicted we'd be challenging for promotion, then had to explain that 'We're better than our league position suggests' when the inevitable relegation battle has ensued. This week, one Stockport player has been in the paper saying he 'honestly feels' they're going to start zooming up the league. Mmm ... more chance that Carlton Palmer will be the next England manager.
