Yes that's true. And look what opening has done to Fleming! It's a specialist position. Not everyone can do it. Mind you, it's tough against the likes of McGrath and Gillespie.

I was a bit like Richardson, not a huge strokemaker or run-scorer but a very solid defence. That's why they made me an opener!! :-P

Only thing i hated about being an opener (in low grade women's cricket) was that after the opening bowlers went off I had to face girls who couldn't land the ball on the square! LOL. Then they'd suddenly give you a good one and you'd get out! Grrrrrrr..........

I once got out to a ball that bounced twice, I swung and missed, and the damn thing bowled me!!!!!!!
Fast bowling was no threat to me, but that rubbish........ *blushes*

Hahahahahha ...and he can't bowl. I saw his one over in that 10 over match after the FICA world xi played a couple of months back. Not good! lol

I even took a couple of wickets here and there! Bowling something akin to donkey drops.....lol
