Thumbs down Nz Close But Not Close Enough..

The feilding in last nights game between the Black Caps and Aussie was SHOCKING.. The dropped catch by James Franklin and the near run out cost them the game. One can only hope they can lift their game plan for tommorow nights game. My understanding is that both Oram and Mills are suppose to be joining the side by today, lets hope they can bring the pro out in the Black Caps that they seem to have lost.

Well, I reckon the boys really did lift their game then. I watched a highlights package of that match against England last night, and the fielding by the kiwi's I thought, was upper class!

Good catches in the slips, especially by the captain. And then that one Gillespie took. Great.

Yes Wanderer they did play rather superb all round cricket in last nights clash..

Lets hope the Black Caps can keep it up and continue to dominate the game.
It was a good team effort in all aspects of the game, they played really well and it makes me proud to be a KIWI..

Thanks for your support Wanderer,
its nice to see fans of the game
out there.

Lets Hope The Kiwis Can Keep Up The Good Work ...

Well, I have been a Kiwi fan since the Black Caps' first tour to SA and got a glimpse of Stephen Fleming, Adam Parore, Lee Germon...

Seriously though, I love NZ cricket for the fact that they are always there and thereabouts, even with NZ being rugby crazy and the relatively small pool of players you have, you are still producing great players. I think I will always enjoy watching the black caps play.

Hi Wanderer,

Can you remember the test series between the Black Caps and the Proteas?
Im not sure of the year i think it was in 2000, the one were NZ were in
trouble and Hamish Marshall came to the crease (on debut) and scored 40
not out. I cant remember the result i think SA won that test. But in about
2002 I met Hamish and James at a local bar in town when they were playing
for Northan Districts and i asked Hamish what it was like to go out in front
of a huge crowd, the game was played over there in SA, and he told me
it was amazing, he said the south african crowd and people where cool,
and that he enjoyed that test match.
I have always enjoyed watching SA VS AUS in the one dayers what a
fight that has been over the years.
My favourite SA player has to be KALLIS, On his day he is just as good
as any other player..

Well, what I DO recall from that test, is the person who got the Man of the Match award. It was groundsman Chris Scott, and his team! Man it rained in Johannesburg then. Grey, gloomy... They tried EVERYTHING to try and get play underway every time it SEEMED like the rain would go away...

Anyhow, I had to go check, but you are right. Marshall did score a not out 40 in the first innings. NZ scored 200 exactly. SA replied with 261/3...and then the heavens opened, and the match ended in a draw.

Yep. I agree South Africans are cool ...But perhaps sometimes we just try a little too hard

Kallis? Great player. But not one of my favourites I'm afraid.

Who is your favourite SA Player?
What are your thoughts for tonights day nighter AUS VS ENG?
I kinda feel for the english at the moment, they dont seem to
be playing up to the standard they should. They have so many
key players out at the moment, and i guess coming of a white wash in the
Ashes has'nt helped. Any way iam more interested in sundays game!
im not 100% sure but i think Kyle Mills will be joining the black caps
for that game.

Well, when I left home for work this morning, England were 78/3. The pitch looked plenty dead and I thought the English would get to at least 230/240...I reckon I am the queen of wishful thinking....

England all out for 110 in the 34th over. It kinda puts into perspective why John Buchanan said England is so BAD it's hurting Australia...

My favourite SA player since re-admission. Well, it used to be Jonty Rhodes. I also liked Alan Donald a bit...and Andrew Hudson too. And I must admit I had a soft spot for Hansie. Even AFTER Hansiegate.

Of the current lot, I only like Makhaya Ntini and Hashim Amla. Because they have SUCH beautiful manners!

I see you are an AVID kiwi fan....So, who's your favourite player then?
