| It is promising an lifting to the rest of the world that the aussies dont have strenght in depth, meaning there may b more copatition too there top spot on rankings both forms of the game but what was important is that new zeland won with out playing their best cricket that can be even more up lifting, knowing they can acheive P.S ANY WIN AGAINST THE AUSSIES IS A GOOD ONE BECAUSE THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD SHOULD BE ABLE TO BEAT ANY TEAM PUT BEFORE THEM, so a record acheivement is even better, so like us kiwis enjoy it while it lasts, though jacob oram could be a big loss he has fractured his fingure, so he may miss the first couple of the games of theworld cup.

| There should be no excuses (or concessions) made for Australia playing the sort of cricket that they did yesterday. The fact that there was no Ponting, Gilchrist, Symonds, Clarke or Lee is beside the point. The eleven players selected are all international quality players and they didn't perform. It's as simple as that. New Zealand played much better cricket and fully deserved their victory. By the way, I believe that the selectors sent the strongest side available (in their opinion). Ponting is injured, Gilchrist needs to spend time with his wife who's about to have a baby (which is fair enough) and all the others regulars not there are injured. How the tables have turned! Interesting times in world cricket! |

| Thank You al-vb! Its good to know that the kiwis never won that game under the circumstances.. Like you say the players that were sent here to play were internationals and have all played international cricket to some degree.. BTW may i add that just because the kiwis won this one they still have to seal the series and win the next 2 games. But i have never written aussie of in my whole entire life they are a fighting unit and dont give up that easy. I feel for Michael Hussey at the moment, but he still has 2 more games to play and "Iam sure he wont give up. Good luck to him and his side for the next up and coming games.. |

| Too much imo is being said about the strength of the Aussie team. There is still McGrath and Bracken as class opening bowlers, Shaun Tait on pace alone would make every other side, Hodge and Haddin are proven first class cricketers, Hussey is a class act, Watson is experienced as is Hogg, Johnson himself is class and Hayden while fading is still a legend of the game. So I wouldnt call it a "B" team by any stretch. |
