NZ team named for 20/20 WC

So the squads out for the 20/20 World cup in South Africa.

Major development is that Flemings gone and Vettori is captain although that's been rumored for a while.

Nathan McCullum and Bradley Scott get a chance to while Gareth Hopkins is in alongside Brendon McCullum.

Heard Willie "worst broadcaster in NZ" Lose talking to Braces this afternoon and he said they're going to SA with the intention of bringing back the trophy and this is the best possible team they could name.
He's planning to open with Vincent and b.McCullum and said there was the possibility of playing Brendan and Gareth Hopkins in the same game whiel Jacob Oram will likely bat at 3.

What are your thoughts people?

And the full squad is:
Daniel Vettori (Captain), Shane Bond, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Gareth Hopkins, Chris Martin, Craig McMillan, Brendon McCullum, Nathan McCullum, Jacob Oram, Jeetan Patel, Bradley Scott, Scott Styris (subject to fitness), Ross Taylor, Lou Vincent

Another bizarre squad from a coach who shouldn't be there any longer.

A couple of NZ's best 20:20 assets aren't in there; namely Chris Harris and James Franklin. Chris Martin will get taken apart in overseas 20:20 matches as well... and he's not exactly going to score any quick runs if necessary!!

Interesting to see Bradley Scott in there; he must have pleased the right people on the A Tour to Aus! Can't see NZ winning with this squad though.

Bradley Scott 9 20/20s 5 wickets at 51.80 econ 9.77 s/r 31.80 instead of Franklin who did well in his 3 International 20/20s and can bat?

Under Bracewell that selection makes perfect sense (just look at how may chances the Marshalls had despite batting averages in single digits).

Apparently Franklin has a technical issue they will be working on during that period to improve his action while Scott will be good at the death because of his unusual release angle (sounds like a tui ad).

I agree with Andy about Chris Martin, might as well have Rigger Richardson opening the batting with Skippy Sinclair. In fact if they both were still playing Braces would of selected them to do just that.

I don't think the team for tonight has been named yet (at least its not on cricinfo) but I'm suggesting we go into the clash with:
Vincent, B. McCullum, Oram, Taylor, Styris, McCullum, Hopkins, Vettori, Bond, Gillespie, Patel
