The Sri Lanka thing . . .

while the cricket fan in me doesn't want them to go home i can't see how they could possibly stay. if they did stay i also doubt the cricket would be of very good quality with the SL team's minds on things at home.

this is probably one of the worst things possible. i feel it falls into the 'sh1t happens' category and it's best if we just cut our losses, let the team go home where they're needed (and where they want to be - which should always be the priority) and replay the tour at a later date.

it is just a game

I totally agree.Theres is no way the Sri Lankans can give a 100% to their commitment after such a tragedy.I heard the reason why the tour hasnt been called off is bcuz of the ICC rules which states that a tour can be called off because of security reasons or if both the boards back off.But i think its time for the ICC to bend its rules with regard to this incident.

The board has said that they must stay, which i feel is quite ridiculous. How can the possibly keep their minds on what is just a game. I sure as hell would be on the first plane back home had i been in that position. The ICC must think about moral grounds here.

no arguement there then.

looks like (on the BBC) india won't be coming as a replacement so no international cricket till AUS in Feb. Hopefully the weather will hold and we'll get some good domestic.

NZRFU must be rubbing their hands . . .

Chris Carins is said to be arranging some sort of a match to raise funds. But with the pathetic crowds we draw, im not so sure..

Australia have donated match bonuses, and Pakistan have signed shirts and auctioned.

And the BCCI donated 1 crore rupees, which is nothing according to me considering the fact that its the richest cricketing board.
