thnx z!

well where do i complain bout graeme smith?
he is young yes,but he treats his elder players with disrespect, respect works both ways!just imagine this world cup time in sa graeme smith not even in the squad ,here smithy comes in as a replacement plays alright and next tour he is made captain out of the blue!now u hav senior players whose like confused as to why they were overlooked!
gud players most of the time dont make gud captains !!!!!!!
does smith hav a proven provincial captaincy record?no!
same reason why eric simons failed as coach,he won the 4day series and 1day series at provincial level in 1 season, immediatly after that he is made the new coach of sa! i think if he repeated his success at provincial level the next season he could warrant bein coach!but hey its SA so yah,ou sport is as erratic as can be!

Not really a lot of other options apart from that Oracle, or are there, Gibbs? Boje? I frankly have no idea.

For me, Smith is the right man at the reigns. However its a pity about the conflict of interests between him and Zulu. Klusner is one of the few genuine game-breakers in world cricket, and its a real shame to see his career not being fulfilled to its potential.

well pollock ,i think will do better.at least he''ll have a better relationship with his players! mark boucher even can do a job! ideal man would have been dale benkenstein from Natal DOlphins, but his goin 2 england and is gettin on with his age!

greame can be captain but only at a later stage ,maybe him bein vice-captain for 2 years or so to pollock would have helped him tremendously!
so blame it on the UCB!

Another captain??? Candidates:

Shaun Pollock: SA wouldn't recycle on who used to be an ex-captain.
Herschelle Gibbs: Still a wild man, simple aura and wouldn't make a great leader.
Jacques Kallis: Too much of an individual player.
Mark Boucher: Probably not good enough.
Nicky Boje: Definetely not good enough.
Makhaya Ntini: Probably wouldn't make a great leader.

Leave it with Smitty i say.

boucher can do it!when does sa expect graeme to produce the goods 3 years down the line?3 years wasted!

he has captained his provincial side, has more international experience and is probably the only guy who can challenge adam gillchrist!!

Boucher challenging Gilchrist? I don't suppose you're talking with respect to cricket, or are you? I don't even see Adam losing to Boucher in a Richardson styled spirit of the snails race.

Mark Boucher is tough cricketer, a determined fighter with the bat, who can play crucial knocks for you with the bat, match winning ones...once in while, sure, but like Gilchrist (13,12 (?) test tons, changes matches for Aus, strike rate highest ever in test cricket history)...we honestly can't be serious about this. Keeping wise the gap b/w him and the rest is smaller, yet it is still substantial, Kamran Akmal and Chris Read (who England ironically don't pick)seem much better keepers to me than Boucher (who BTW has never kept to a world class spinner)

The second best w/k batsman (collectively) right now in the world must be Gilchrist's clone
