Boucher is no where near the mark of Gilchrist, nobody is.

But its really a bit much to expect any keeper-batsman to be of that calibre, Gilchrist is something special.
And I do wonder why Geriant Jones is persevered with over Read...

guys, guys, guys kewl it i neva said boucher is the best keeper in the world, his the best in sa,and like u mentioned he plays crucial knocks!

chris read ????? he kept to robert croft didnt he?no offence but alec stewart was the only recent english keeper who is gud!
if u look at all-round play boucher is second(note im sayin second) only after gillchrist!fact is u will neva see a south african keeper keepin to a quality spinner, coz our teams here dont spin!
on the point of spinners theory of mine here:

local spinners take provincial wickets here right(the standard is still low),it impresses the selectors and they get picked for SA ok...so they get to that level and get murdered....why's that?Coz the batsmen on provincial dont dominate these spinners at all,so they get a false sense of security of thinkin they are gud.hence they dont develop!
this also explains why SA struggle against any decent spinner!look at how they struggled with that talented young guy from Zim! our exemplary captain smith premedatatedly bashin him evry ball and then tryin to be mr man(u dont smash evry ball, the guy is gona bowl 1 gud ball!)goin for it the how mayith time and fallin out to long off!tsk..tsk...tsk..!
SA wishes they 1 spinner like that, think they should by him!graem cremer i think is his name!

I still disagree. Mark Boucher is clearly not the 2nd best wicket keeper in the world. He is probably not even third best in my (humble opinion). When you've got people like Sangakkara, McCullum, Akmal, Karthick, not to forget even Taibu, he simply can't be the 2nd best. If Boucher was selected in a world eleven he would have to keep to the likes of Murali , Kumble, Kaneria and Vettori, and for some one who is only used to keeping against the likes of Nicky Boje, Robin Perterson and Paul Adams, Boucher will struggle.

mcullum isnt in the same class as the rest so i cant see him bein above boucher,as for the rest from the asian contintent, are as good against quicks?are they consistently gud on both the asian (dry, low bounce, turnin pitches) and the south african & aussie (bouncy, fast pitches) pitches?
thats why boucher is 2nd,he has no world class spinner 2 keep 2,but he has kept wicket to some of the best quickies in the business(exludin the crappy attack at the moment!) and his all-round game is superior to the others.
his battin average is better than akmal, karthik and his a better glove man mccullum and sagakkara.consider that he usually batted at number 7-9 for south africa coz of people like pollock and klusener performing well up the order,so didnt bat alot.only recently is he batting higher!
anyhow end of this discussion!LOL,rather let people vote!
by the way i dont think any of those guys can keep 2 paul adams!LOL(he doesnt spin much, but readin him is a problem, plus he is unpredictable!)
cheers
