| Australia has chosen to feild Brad Hogg who is good spinner although there mainly for his handy batting and with Darren Lehman, Andrew Symonds and Michal clarke who can all ball decent spin. Shane Watson is technicly an allrounder allthough is a far better batsmen than bowler. The team is batting deep with test class batsmen down to 8 and Brett lee who can cetinly hold the willow at 10. It basicly means we can go out slogging complie a huge score and then settle down for a bowl without too much of a worry. Because the match is being held in my state we dont recive coverage of the second innings so I wont be able to keep you posted unfortunetly.

| Kiwis beat Australia for the 1st time in 3 years! Sounds like it was a very close match, but the Kiwis won due to great performances from Astle at the top of the order and Hamish Marshall at the end. Kasprowicz went for a few in his last over, which is unusual. Still, its good to see the Aussies having to work for once. |

| Is it only me, or has Beny gone strangely quiet? What happened to those over by over updates through the day mate? On a serious note, it was a cracking game of cricket; I watched the first half (Aus innings) and then the extended highlights a bit later on. The Kiwis owe their success mainly to Vettori and Cairns with the ball and Astle and Marshall with the bat. I don't know why Marshall does not play Tests, he did well when Pakistan toured NZL last year, and is a young batsman of great promise, and a world-class fielder too. Well done to the Kiwis for not letting the Test series' results demoralise them, and come back strongly; they lost Fleming to Lee on the second ball of their innings, but coped well. The Australians were unlucky and somewhat unplayed, so bound to come back very very strongly in the next two ODIs! PS: Beny, hope you don't take the above the wrong way, not intended to be a wind-up... with Pakistan due to play in Perth in a few days' time, I really cannot afford to make facetious comments about your team...!

I was (un-fortunete) enough to see our middle order colapse for 18 runs in 4 overs. Anything can happen in the one-day game and in this one it seems to have. Brett lee bowled very well and was probebly the pick of the bowlers from what I understand. Early in the match it looked as though Aus were set for a huge total with gilly taking apart the Kiwi bowling. He started suffering back problems and was eventualy bowled by Cairns (how they missed him). Hayden was the first to go caught by the best outfield catch I have ever seen- Sinclair dived to one side and caught it with one hand. Ponting looked good but was dissmised by a dubious LBW decision (not that I'm complaining). It all went down hill from there. Unfortunetly that's all I have seen from a combination of highlights and own viewing. Don't worry Marenello, were going to be a lot tougher than a state second IX.

I agree thought, Sinclair's catch was absolutely brilliant, probably one of two best catches I have ever seen live (as opposed to in a collection of "memorable catches" type shows). He was fielding as the leg-side sweeper, dived full length, flew through the air, and caught the ball single-handedly with an out-stretched left hand (is he left-handed). The other very similar one I saw was way back in the early 90s (1993?), Wasim Akram fielding at mid-wicket as the Captain and diving full-length and a bit more besides to take a one-handed catch 1 mm above ground... to say Richie Richardson's expression was a trifle bemused, like Hayden's today, would be an understatement!

| If it's a sell out-not sure what the criteria is for that probebly an 80-90% showup- than it's shown in-full. Also they ussualy show the last bit of a test match if it is expected to end quickly.
